Historia
Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, the “Joyful Vegan,” has guided countless individuals through the process of becoming vegan. In The Joyful Vegan, she shares her insights into why some people stay vegan and others don’t. Understanding that the food is the easy part of being vegan, Colleen turns her attention to what she believes is the most challenging - dealing with the social, cultural, and emotional aspects: being asked to defend your eating choices, living with the awareness of animal suffering, feeling the pressure to be perfect, and experiencing guilt, remorse, and anger.

Lovely and so inspiring
Revisado: 10-20-21
Colleen Patrick-Goudreau has been a hero and my number one resource as I have transitioned to a vegan world view and lifestyle. Even if you're not vegan or are ex-vegan or are unsure what veganism is all about, this book is enlightening, very digestible (not long or dense or tedious), and deeply moving. Highly recommend.

Historia
What we eat has tremendous implications not just for our waistlines, but also for the planet, society, and the global economy. What we do to our bodies, we do to the planet; and what we do to the planet, we do to our bodies. In Food Fix, #1 bestselling author Mark Hyman explains how our food and agriculture policies are corrupted by money and lobbies that drive our biggest global crises: the spread of obesity and food-related chronic disease, climate change, poverty, violence, educational achievement gaps, and more.

Important
Revisado: 03-30-21
Very compelling, and so important. Dr. Hyman galvanizes us to action - we can all do our part to mitigate disaster and foster the health of ourselves, our communities, plants and animals across the globe, and the earth itself. Everyone should give this a close listen.

Historia
When climate activist Greta Thunberg was 11, her parents Malena and Svante, and her little sister Beata, were facing a crisis in their own home. Greta had stopped eating and speaking, and her mother and father had reconfigured their lives to care for her. Desperate and searching for answers, her parents discovered what was at the heart of Greta’s distress: her imperiled future on a rapidly heating planet. Steered by Greta’s determination to understand the truth and generate change, they began to see the deep connections between their own suffering and the planet’s.

Exquisitely written, perfectly performed. Wow. Everyone needs to hear it - everyone. And then, we should all be a little more like Greta in our daily lives. Thank you to Greta and family for writing this.

Historia
When Michael Pollan set out to research how LSD and psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) are being used to provide relief to people suffering from difficult-to-treat conditions such as depression, addiction, and anxiety, he did not intend to write what is undoubtedly his most personal book. But upon discovering how these remarkable substances are improving the lives not only of the mentally ill but also of healthy people coming to grips with the challenges of everyday life, he decided to explore the landscape of the mind in the first person as well as the third.

What a masterpiece. Pollan is thorough, curious, personal, and engaging. His perspective is extremely broad, and such intriguing insights that I want to listen again, immediately.
