Historia
When he opened the FBI investigation into Russia’s election interference, Peter Strzok had already spent more than two decades defending the United States against foreign threats. His career in counterintelligence ended shortly thereafter, when the Trump administration used his private expression of political opinions to force him out of the Bureau in August 2018. But by that time, Strzok had seen more than enough to convince him that the commander in chief had fallen under the sway of America’s adversary in the Kremlin.

So interesting!
Revisado: 09-21-20
Look, who doesn't love a fallen hero? Great story and filled with interesting information. The one big flaw with this audio version is that there are weird overdubs in narration which didn't fully match the original voice. It is nitpicky but noticeably jarring. I loved it though.

Fun, Accessible, Interesting
Revisado: 07-28-20
This book would be excellent for anyone from high school through mid career or for people frequently involved in management, education, or empowerment. I find the super power analogy a bit cloying but appreciate the book and what it's lessons represent. Would recommend.

Historia
The Shahanis came to Queens - from India, by way of Casablanca - in the 1980s. They were undocumented for a few unsteady years, and then, with the arrival of their green cards, they thought they'd made it. This is the story of how they did, and didn't; the unforeseen obstacles that propelled them into years of disillusionment and heartbreak; and the strength of a family determined to stay together.

Touching Debut Memoir
Revisado: 10-08-19
This is really a wonderful debut work and I wanted to recommend it.
Aarti Shahani had really created a touching memoir filled with Queens, class, immigration, savviness, determination, and deep ruminations on love, respect, distance, family, and work. Especially in the the post-Obama era, it looks back unflinchingly at historical precedents on immigration injustices, while facing class, race, gender, and modern identity issues with an optimism and determination which makes the entire reading enjoyable.
I'm glad someone so 'young' is sharing this story now, but realize there is going to be another one in her future. She clearly has a Very bright future ahead of her still.
Buy it, read it, share it, listen to it.
It's worth it.

Ideas are arguably the most valuable asset in an information-based economy. But how do you find the best ideas - the kind that can boost careers, change organizations, and ramp up the value of projects? Why do some people seem to come up with these ideas whenever they need them? In this myth-busting audio book, the authors reveal that great business ideas do not spring from innate creativity, or necessarily from the minds of brilliant people.

Not bad, just simplistic. While productive and entertaining, the book needed more. Good reader though.

Historia
A gorgeous, moving memoir of how one of America's most innovative and respected journalists found his voice by coming to terms with a painful past. New York Times columnist Charles M. Blow mines the compelling poetry of the out-of-time African-American Louisiana town where he grew up - a place where slavery's legacy was felt astonishingly close, reverberating in the elders' stories and in the near-constant wash of violence.

Solid telling, tragic life
Revisado: 03-15-16
I'm saddened that this narrative focuses so heavily on his sexuality and life. Clearly a gifted man, it's read as a narrative through the lens of abuse and race. That interpretation doesn't diminish the life or power of his narrative, although it may place his memoir in a less 'marketable' category. However, the vulnerability and candor of its content buoy what otherwise is a traditional bildungsroman steeped in fairly traditional American and African American mores.
