WAY too much ego from this Hall of Famer along with his absolutely horrible reading of HIS OWN book was just too much for me. He reads it as if it is his first time learning about it, instead of his living it. Such a Disappointment. DO not waste your time on Mr. October,

Terrific story of Custer, the Little Big Horn

This book "A Terrible Glory" was a very insightful unbiased view of Custer, his life and those around him. Told from the views of both the American Army and the Indians of the West. The book Shows exactly how and why the battle took place the way it did and gives details as to those involved and how they handled the battle. Both from a heroic and less than heroic standpoint.

Clearly, Custer was up against from the get go of the expedition of 1876, From lack of support in Washington and definite lack of support from his officers. That coupled with arrogance of invincibility on Custer's part caused the demise of nearly all of the 7th Calvary.

The narrator was very good, no worries in getting used to his voice, tone and definitely no problems with pronunciations of names and places, which is always a issue with me.

HIghly recommend this book to anyone interested Custer and the battle of the Little Big Horn. Also the PDF of maps included are a tremendous aide in following the armies movements. Only drawback here is the author attention to extreme detail can be a bit lengthy but It certainly does not deter from the excellent job done here

Would you listen to As You Wish again? Why?

INCONCEIVABLE!!!! That anyone who is a fan of the Classic movie "The Princess Bride" should ever miss enjoying this book. Read by Cary Elwes with all the passion and heart he delivers in the film. Along with additional narration from nearly the entire cast. A pure gem... Listen and Enjoy..."As You Wish"

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

Elwes was Simply Outstanding!!! Delivering the backstory with all the love and passion that the movie deserves

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely

Dykstra's Book is a self serving, probably truthful narrative of his life. Seemed to me that there was a significant amount of purposeful omissions to make his case.

Can't recommend the book, can't dislike the book. It is what it is. There was nothing to keep you glued to it. It was ok, and that's about all. I was glad when I finished it. Sorry Lenny, you were a better player than you are a writer.
