Historia
Joe Pickett is the new game warden in Twelve Sleep, Wyoming, a town where nearly everyone hunts and the game warden—especially one like Joe who won't take bribes or look the other way—is far from popular. When he finds a local hunting outfitter dead, splayed out on the woodpile behind his state-owned home, he takes it personally. There had to be a reason that the outfitter, with whom he's had run-ins before, chose his backyard, his woodpile to die in.

Reminds me of Grisham
Revisado: 03-29-25
This book is refreshingly different. The story is almost like a legal thriller. The narrator is excellent. If you are bored with the same old murder mysteries with no original content, you’ll appreciate this book. It gives you insight into a world you know nothing about and keeps you hooked. Sometimes transitions are a little abrupt and there’s a slight lack of emotion. I want more of this author for sure.

Great cast. Great ending.
Revisado: 02-26-25
What a pleasure to be treated to such a variety of characters with different voices. It plays very much like a TV series. Twice I caught myself looking at the screen to see what was happening. You can try to guess who the culprit is, but wow, I was sure surprised when they were revealed at the end!

Hits close to home
Revisado: 07-09-24
For anyone who has ever been in a situation where their significant other literally had the ability to drive them crazy/mad, this book might hit a little too close to home. One small drawback of the book is that once again, like so many authors, there are a couple too many characters. Writers, please… I will stop reading/listening to your book if you confuse me with too many characters. Many great stories with potential have been ruined by cramming them too full of characters. At least in this book the characters were spread out enough, until the very end when they all come together. With multiple characters it’s also important to make the voices VERY different.

This is an author I will follow for sure. He develops characters wonderfully. And I laughed out loud several times. Super talented. And the narrator- wow. I couldn’t stop listening. Totally engrossing.

Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Abrupt ending
Revisado: 12-28-23
Cool story. Some gaps that never get filled in, but good characters which are so important for a decent book. Didn’t love the abrupt ending. Wasn’t paying attention to the time remaining so it was unexpected. But definitely worth the listen :)

Historia
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Revisado: 10-18-23
Why isn’t personal success enough for people? Being from West Michigan, I thought I might relate a little to Jeff, who I do enjoy as an actor. But no. He’s a big shot who knows he’s a big shot, and in case you missed it, he’ll remind you what a big shot he is. Brag much?
