Historia
From the celebrated author of The Secret Life of Bees, a magnificent novel about two unforgettable American women. Writing at the height of her narrative and imaginative gifts, Sue Monk Kidd presents a masterpiece of hope, daring, the quest for freedom, and the desire to have a voice in the world - and it is now the newest Oprah’s Book Club 2.0 selection. Hetty “Handful” Grimke, an urban slave in early nineteenth century Charleston, yearns for life beyond the suffocating walls that enclose her within the wealthy Grimke household. The Grimke’s daughter, Sarah, has known from an early age she is meant to do something large in the world, but she is hemmed in by the limits imposed on women.

I get it!
Revisado: 01-10-18
Three were some harsh realities, but at least they were delivered with humor. I understand he WAS just not that in to me, which should make me very sad to have chosen that person, but it actually makes it so much easier to accept and move on.

Wow! This book is amazing!
Revisado: 09-04-17
Although none of the women's stories in this book were mine, I related to almost all of them. I accept I must learn to love myself first, and stop trying to create a person I think others want me to be. I am worthy and will seek the happiness I so desperately want with in me.

Historia
We are accustomed to think of sociopaths as violent criminals, but in The Sociopath Next Door, Harvard psychologist Martha Stout reveals that a shocking 4 percent of ordinary people, one in 25, has an often undetected mental disorder, the chief symptom of which is that that person possesses no conscience. He or she has no ability whatsoever to feel shame, guilt, or remorse. One in 25 everyday Americans, therefore, is secretly a sociopath.

Exceptional description of the sociopath
Revisado: 01-25-15
I cried when I the author wrapped up the differences between the sociopath vs the conscious driven individual... I have spent so much time, 18 years, with a sociopath and actually had difficulty discerning my own psychological failures since leaving him. I too vote for the conscious driven, and remarkably recognize what sets us apart now.
