Earth is not well. The promise of starting life anew somewhere far, far away—no climate change, no war, no Twitter—beckons, and settling the stars finally seems within our grasp. Or is it? Critically acclaimed, bestselling authors Kelly and Zach Weinersmith set out to write the essential guide to a glorious future of space settlements, but after years of research, they aren’t so sure it’s a good idea.

Fresh Realistic Look at What The Future Holds
Revisado: 02-14-24
The book was fun and geeky. It makes me think about the future and be realistic. It helped me with my thoughts in space exploration. I laughed a lot and I learned a lot something my science teachers never could make me do.

Historia
In 2016, presidential candidate Donald Trump declared, "I think the big problem this country has is being politically correct". Reeling from his victory, Democrats blamed the corrosive effect of "identity politics". When banned from Twitter for inciting violence, Trump and his supporters claimed that the measure was an assault on "free speech". In We Need New Stories, Nesrine Malik explains that all of these arguments are political myths - variations on the lie that American values are under assault.

Biased Progressive propaganda
Revisado: 01-21-22
Unfair purely opinion driven commentary on progressive political agenda. At least I read through it all and listen to what the author had to say so I know where she is coming from.

In the most ambitious one-volume American history in decades, award-winning historian Jill Lepore offers a magisterial account of the origins and rise of a divided nation. In riveting prose, These Truths tells the story of America, beginning in 1492, to ask whether the course of events has proven the nation's founding truths or belied them.

Long Political History of the US
Revisado: 06-17-20
Great Read. It's long! it took me a month to read when usually I read a book a week. I would say this book gives a great overview of political struggle in America, but it does have a narrow view that aims at race relations, political partisanship, and tends to lean on a negative view on conservative values. That makes sense for a Harvard Ivy League elite. There seemed to be nothing good that the Republican party could do in this book since the 1960s. But at points the author did a fair evaluation and I valued the difference of opinions and sides she brought to the table. The book helped me understand the history and struggle as a nation in terms of race relations, poverty, immigration, news and media, and equal rights struggles in America. It has influenced me to listen to both sides in an argument and try to hold fast to our democratic values. Great read.

Great Content ... at x2.5 speed
Revisado: 04-10-20
Loved the content. It is very helpful from a Christian standpoint in helping us understanding the concept of calling and where and how our faith is involved in the concept of calling. The best part is understanding that there is a primary and a secondary calling to our lives that is informed by our God given giftedness.
My only complaint is that 5 minutes at regular speed would put me to sleep. x2 speed was bearable but 10 minutes of that put me to sleep. x2.5 is what kept me going. its about a 300 page book read in 13 hours.... do the math and you can see why you must listen at a minimum x2 speed.

Historia
We've all had experiences with two dramatically different types of leaders. The first type drain intelligence, energy, and capability from the people around them and always need to be the smartest people in the room. These are the idea killers, the energy sappers, the diminishers of talent and commitment. On the other side of the spectrum are leaders who use their intelligence to amplify the smarts and capabilities of the people around them.

Big book on how to delegate
Revisado: 12-30-18
The book is an impressive take on leadership. I can appreciate the wisdom in seeking to better utilize the intelligence with those I work with, however, so much of this book is all about delegating. Nothing absolutely revolutionary, it is a new and innovative way to reclaim common sense and help destroy your inner micro
manager.

Historia
A definitive, deeply moving narrative, Bonhoeffer is a story of moral courage in the face of the monstrous evil that was Nazism. After discovering the fire of true faith in a Harlem church, Bonhoeffer returned to Germany and became one of the first to speak out against Hitler. As a double agent, he joined the plot to assassinate the Führer and was hanged in Flossenbürg concentration camp at age thirty-nine. Since his death, Bonhoeffer has grown to be one of the most fascinating, complex figures of the twentieth century.

Could not stop hearing even when I knew the ending
Revisado: 12-27-18
Dietrich is an inspirational leader for those of the Christian faith. He is a hero to All for standing by his convictions against all odds. This book has undoubtedly changed my views of civil disobedience and religious compliance. I hope this book inspires many to stand against evil even when the cost is great. You have to read the book! 1.5x speed of course but worth it despite the length.

Excellent narration to a great classic story. The songs during the story are never really fully captured by anybody, but it was an excellent narration.
