Historia
When a Republic spy goes missing on the Moons of Varl, the Jedi Council asks Obi-Wan and Anakin to infiltrate an underground podracing circuit run by a crime boss believed to be holding the spy prisoner. With Anakin posing as a hotshot racer and Obi-Wan as his attendant, tensions between the two threaten to run even higher than usual. But when Obi-Wan is forced to leave Varl, Anakin is on his own as he faces a series of increasingly treacherous races that will determine his fate—and that of the spy.

Loved hearing these two back then, and excellent narration! Obi and Yoda were especially good. We need more narration of SW by this man!

Historia
Two astronomers have detected a strange, pulsing signal from deep space. Within hours, the US government goes into lockdown, restricting airspace and scrubbing scientific data. Was the signal an intercepted communication revealing alarming plans for an enemy’s military strike? Or has humanity at long last found proof of extraterrestrial life?

Historia
The ninth floor. Nine armies, each led by rich and powerful aliens from across the galaxy. Each team has one objective: to capture and hold the castle at the very center of the battlefield. Strategy, alliances, pitched battles, and, of course, betrayal ... It all makes for great fun and even greater television. After all, none of these powerful aliens really die when they’re playing war. Except this time. This time, winner takes all. Those who fall, stay in the ground.

As always, I used the excuse of the new book to re-listen the previous ones. What a ride! I continue to be amazed at Matt’s creativity and Jeff’s ability to narrate. I’m already feeling the withdrawal symptoms. It will be hard to wait for the next one. Keepem coming!

The theft of the Best Idea in the Universe from Thresia's Intergalactic Bank of Ideas plunges the Discovered Universe into chaos. With a robotic partner who’s not the machine he fell in love with and a mind as cool and measured as a forest fire, Isaac must unravel a cosmic conspiracy that stretches further than the reaches of even his depraved imagination. Earth and Thresia teeter on the brink of war as the race to recover the Best Idea intensifies. Yet in this bizarre Universe, truth proves stranger - and far more perilous - than fiction.

Revisado: 02-15-25
Rigby's imagination and humor ticks all the right boxes for me. I need to re-listen to both books at least to just be able to remember the colorful expression so I can use them in real life! Please we need more books coming for this series, or even if not this series, still more from this author narrating his own work!

Historia
Agent Isaac Steele has problems. He spends all his splibs on drink and drugs. He has some deep-seated and very much unresolved issues with his parents. And his robotic partner at Greatest Britain’s Department of Clarification, Dr Timothy Stephens, is ruled more by his heart than his hard drive. But all these issues take a back seat when Isaac stumbles upon a case involving the most sensitive information in the cosmos - a Never File, inaccessible to all except those with the highest clearance. He is expressly forbidden to involve himself. So naturally he does.

Loved it! the humor is so good! The author is the narrator, so imaginative and great at voice acting! The universe so weird and unique. Great sound design and effects. I need more!
Also, I love that this story is British centric, it's a refreshing change from the million other USA centric stories around there. And let's be honest, you can't beat that accent, I could listen to this guy all day long.

Trust the awesomeness, duh!
Revisado: 02-02-25
So, if you are here, and I'm here, it's clear we are both addicts to Joe and Skippy. I thoroughly enjoyed them like I usually do, and I'm happy the Outsiders arc is getting a chance to be told after that 'false stop' to the saga with book 15. With the excuse of book 17 I went ahead and listened the entire saga again (for the third time I think?), they are like family to me at this point. They don't disappoint. I kinda don't know what to do with myself now that I have to wait until April for the next one.
On the critical side, there are some re-recorded bits that are VERY noticiable, with a different equalization that can distract and expel you momentarily from the story. Fortunately there aren't many of them. R.C. is an (inter)national treasure as always. Go ahead and enjoy my monkey friends!
Borderline spoiler but not really: omg my heart in chapter 35 when the 'advisor' makes its appearance. Listen to it and then you'll know what I mean. Oh Craig, why do you do this to me!

The ship’s weary crew wonders what they will do with their lives in peacetime, but the enemy has other plans, and there is danger on the Homefront. Starring Zachary Quinto, R.C. Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R.C. Bray.

Big fan of the saga but this one doesn't work well
Revisado: 11-20-24
I've listened to the entire series like 4 times already but I always avoided this one due to bad reviews. This time around I thought 'well, maybe I can finally fill that gap in the story' so I bought it. It did fill the gap and though I love Mr Alanson's creativity and writing, I feel this one doesn't work on the side of the audio editing, voices, etc.
The story doesn't flow. There are weird pauses, the ever present music is distracting, at times the voices can't be understood. And in my point of view, the casting of the voices didn't work. E.g. Smithe is brittish, sure, but far from the actual way R.C. Bray portraits his character through the voice. I would expect the voice actors to perform somewhat close to the original personality, cadence and pitch. Also some of the voice acting is a bit over the top which sounds weird in conversations with other characters that are actually on point.
I knew what I was getting into though, so no regrets. Many reviews stated similar things as this one. I finally went for it so I could understand what happened to Nagatha mostly.

Historia
On September 11, 1999, humanity made a monumental discovery in the vastness of space. Scientists uncovered an asteroid of immense scientific importance—a colossal celestial entity. As massive as an aircraft carrier and towering as high as the iconic Empire State Building, this cosmic titan was later named Bennu. Remarkable for much more than its size, Bennu belonged to a rare breed of asteroids capable of revealing the essence of life itself. But just as Bennu became a beacon of promise, researchers identified a grave danger.

Great overall, very interesting story
Revisado: 08-23-24
Loved to hear multiple narrators for once, all great actors. The story was engaging and interesting. Sound effects were too loud at times covering what the characters were saying. The quality of the audio and effects was great, the only issue was the volume of the effects over the voices at times. I feel the ending missed a line or two, but I'm guessing it was written like that for effect. Anyway I recommend it!

Superb ending to a fantastic trilogy
Revisado: 08-21-24
Yes. I'm now a fan of mr Sansbury Smith. I'll have to peruse his other works. This journey was packed of believable characters, great narrative, fantastic storylines, great dominion on sci-fi and an epic ending to the story. I very much like the relevant detail provided in that last recorded message (trying not to spoil but be clear enough for those who know). R.C. made it all believable and relatable. What a great writer/narrator combo!
