There may be no tidy solutions or pithy answers to life’s big challenges, but Michelle Obama believes that we can all locate and lean on a set of tools to help us better navigate change and remain steady within flux. In The Light We Carry, she opens a frank and honest dialogue with listeners, considering the questions many of us wrestle with: How do we build enduring and honest relationships? Historia
In 2015, Arlan Hamilton was on food stamps and sleeping on the floor of the San Francisco airport, with nothing but an old laptop and a dream of breaking into the venture capital business. She couldn’t understand why people starting companies all looked the same (white and male), and she wanted the chance to invest in the ideas and people who didn’t conform to this image of how a founder is supposed to look. Hamilton had no contacts or network in Silicon Valley, no background in finance - not even a college degree. What she did have was fierce determination and the will to succeed.

Historia
Franchesca Ramsey didn't set out to be an activist. Or a comedian. Or a commentator on identity, race, and culture, really. But then her YouTube video "What White Girls Say...to Black Girls" went viral. Faced with an avalanche of media requests, fan letters, and hate mail, she had two choices: Jump in and make her voice heard or step back and let others frame the conversation. After a crash course in social justice and more than a few foot-in-mouth moments, she realized she had a talent and passion for breaking down injustice in America in ways that could make people listen and engage.

I was really excited to listen to this..
Revisado: 06-13-18
I heard HeyFranHey give a rave review and while i do appreciate the concrete examples of what we could do better as a whole i wanted to learn a bit more bout Fran . I think she does tell an excellent store and i'm about 4/6 hours in.
I think that somewhere in the middle instead of writing about herself she writes a bit more about generalized things we could fix based on the forward movement of social justice. I appreciate this but again i really want more of her.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Well.. i mean it got better at the end?
Revisado: 05-23-18
Hey so i was really looking forward to this sort of tough love, get your shit together book.
What i kind of got was some alpha male rhetoric. .wait, wait wait. calm down. it did get better. i think it needed to spout off that way so that when we got to the later chapters we could sink into the tiny nuggets if gold.
I think it needed that sincere tone from the beginning but i did feel as though we didn't necessarily need all of the anecdotes shoved in such a small amount of time.
Perhaps in the self help arena I am too used to the notion of a calmer female approach in this genre but nevertheless if you need a quick swift in the pants this book might be for you.
