Lisa Gardner is one of my favorite suspense authors. This continuation of Frankie's story was another entertaining listen full of twists as secrets and lies are revealed.

Bad Narrator and Weak Story

The narrator struggled to depict characters individually. For all the men characters she used a deep, gravely voice that was overthetop. She didn't pause in between scenes, and it would get confusing. The story itself had a lot of problems. The main characters go on a hunt for a serial killer based on a picture of an unknown man and some vague memories. When the the real killer is revealed, it was meant to be a shock of who it was, but honestly, it just didn't make sense. I know the author explains why this was the killer but I didn't buy it and thought she chose him just for the shock value rather than really developing the story.

Deeper than a Summer Romance

This book had a lot more to it than the light-hearted summer romance I first thought it was. It deals with mental illness, foster care, anxiety, toxic mothers and more, but it's all handled brilliantly. The characters are fully developed, and I enjoyed getting to know them and rooting for them. I wish there was more on Emma's therapy treatments. That part was glossed over. Overall, I enjoyed the book.

Predictable

Good story idea, but her big secret that she wanted to keep hidden was very predictable, and I figured it out way before it was revealed. I did like the characters and the historical sections.

Excellent historical fiction

Loved this book. The characters are all unique, strong women whose bond help them face their fears and overcome hardship. Great historical fiction in the early 1900s.

Another Great One

Loved this story. There are two main storylines, and both were riveting. I usually only listen in the car, but it was so good that I had to listen to the last hour sitting on my back deck. Great suspense and mystery. Great character development.

Deeply Disturbing

This book was suspenseful but very graphic death scene. The narrator is a demented killer that tries to rationalize his actions. The book made me extremely uncomfortable.

A Beautiful Love Story

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author captured exactly what it means to love and how love changes as we grow and change due to circumstances.

Wonderful Book!

I absolutely loved this book! The characters are so well developed that I felt like I knew them. Rose is a delight. This book had me feeling all the emotions: laughter, anger, and sadness.

Loveable Characters
