Fun, fun story!
Revisado: 09-06-13
What did you love best about Theft of Swords?
This book was a delight, from start to finish. The story was engaging, the two main characters are well drawn out and very likeable. The plot sailed along - I felt like I was along for the ride. The narrator did a superb job. I'll likely seek out other books he narrates. Looking forward to the next two volumes in this series. Highly recommended for those who love a good, old fashioned fantasy adventure story.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Theft of Swords?
I loved the twists and turns. Also, as the story progressed, one got a stronger sense of who each of the characters were - each had pretty layered personalities.
What about Tim Gerard Reynolds’s performance did you like?
Again, the narrator was wonderful. His talents made it easy to fall into the story. Each character had its own identity, based on Mr. Reynold's talents. Terrific!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Hmmm. Tag line: Most lovable thieves ever!

Truly wonderful
Revisado: 07-07-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Painting the Darkness to be better than the print version?
I adored this book. It was my first Goddard book and certainly won't be my last.
What did you like best about this story?
The story was compelling, with interesting, well rounded characters and plenty of twists and turns. It had a bit of a "gothic" feel to it but retained a great sense of place and time. Great phrases and descriptions. I was hooked from the first sentence.
Have you listened to any of Michael Kitchen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Michael Kitchen was superb. I do believe he is the best narrator I've encountered - and there are a host of great ones on Audible. I would - and will - seek out other books he narrates. What a great voice and talent!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It was, but it wasn't - I wanted the story to last and last. I did find myself staying up way later just to hear one more chapter. I also think this will be a "re-listen" for me.
Any additional comments?
Top shelf, all the way. Great author, great narrator - all of it: simply wonderful.

Historia
Late in the night of April 14, 1912, the mighty Titanic, a passenger liner traveling from Southampton, England, to New York City, struck an iceberg four hundred miles south of Newfoundland. Its sinking over the next two and a half hours brought the ship—mythological in name and size—100 years of infamy.

Most Interesting
Revisado: 02-26-13
What did you love best about Voyagers of the Titanic?
It was an interesting - I learned a lot. The author folded in all of the information and details beautifully....
What did you like best about this story?
He made the tragedy far more "personal" with so many stories of the individuals involved with both the construction of the ship and those on the voyage.
Which character – as performed by Robin Sachs – was your favorite?
Hard to specify that with this type of book. I think the "regular" people he talked about ..such sad stories.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I certainly got teary...
Any additional comments?
The narrator did a simply outstanding job....

Even stranger than Anna's behavior, though, is the town itself. The people seem to know what their future holds - freak accidents and all - down to the hour.

It was a bit like a grown up fairy tale story...
What does Edoardo Ballerini bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Historia
Here is the first full-length biography of a much maligned but astonishingly colourful Queen of England. In Newgate Street, in the city of London, stand the meagre ruins of Christ Church. On the same site once stood a royal mausoleum set to rival Westminster Abbey in the 14th century. Among the many crowned heads buried there was Isabella of France, Edward II's queen - one of the most notorious femme fatales in history. But how did she acquire her evil reputation? And is it justified?

Loved It
Revisado: 08-05-12
What did you love best about Isabella?
Alison Weir always does such an amazing job. This story is wonderful, start to finish. I loved it; didn't want it to end. So many interesting facts. My perception of Isabella has changed dramatically because of this book. The narrator did a superb job.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Isabella?
Her focus on righting the wrong done to her, as well as the country, was very insightful. Such a contrast to how the story was told in other historical accounts.
Have you listened to any of Lisette Lecat’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I loved the narrator. It was my first time listening to a book with Ms. Lecat as the narrator. I'll be sure to seek out other books she has narrated..
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
"Who Knew?"

Yuck
Revisado: 04-11-09
There might be some great principles and pointers in this book, but the author's ego gets in the way: how many stories about herself do we really need to hear? Good golly.
Way too distracting. Plus, she never seems to circle back to nail down the point she is trying to make...

Maddening
Revisado: 02-15-09
This guy needs some presentation skills: his multiple starts and re-starts got wearisome and his heavy use of stories, without bringing home the point, was maddening. Also, I became more and more mindful of his mis-use of popular terms and phrases.
He has some great points, but they were so muddled with his constant asides, efforts to be amusing and assumption that the audience gets the point he is trying to make - he simply goes off tangent way too much. He doesn't tie it up.

Revisado: 07-04-08
What a stupid story: not quite a mystery and too obvious of a stereotypical romance - complete with sexist attitudes/assumptions, tired dialogue and cardboard characters. No sense of suspense with regard to the plot, and the characters fell into such obvious roles. Ick.

The Friday Night Knitting Club is the ad hoc creation of some of Georgia's regulars, who stroll into the shop looking for tips on knitting and end up finding much, much more. A delightful story - especially listening to it as an audio book. The narrator is perfect for the story. At times, it seemed that the story will follow along stereotypical lines, but it swerved away from that. Charming.
