Historia
Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases - a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with as well as way less experience in the dating department than the average 30-year-old. It doesn't help that she has Asperger's and that French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. She decides that she needs lots of practice - with a professional - which is why she hires escort Michael Phan.

Historia
What happens when the President of the United States governs one Tweet at a time? When the elected leader of the free world may not have a firm grasp on the names of government agencies, much less an understanding of their intricate inner-workings? In the days following the 2016 inauguration, government personnel searched for answers that didn’t exist, while White House staff scoured halls for employees who would never be appointed.

Important to know but scary for our future.
Revisado: 02-21-20
The brain drain happening in our country is frightening. administration who doesnt understand what the government does and /or doesnt care will leave us vulnerable for all kinds of attacks or disasters. terrorism is on the list but its hardly the first risk. this was facinating to discover all that the us government does to gather data and protect us, inspect our food or predict our weather. things we take for granted are critically important. thank you Michael Lewis!

Historia
When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius—his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.

Historia
"True belonging doesn't require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are." Social scientist Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, has sparked a global conversation about the experiences that bring meaning to our lives - experiences of courage, vulnerability, love, belonging, shame, and empathy. In Braving the Wilderness, Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization.

Brene' articulates what we struggle with.
Revisado: 07-19-18
we can all do our best to explain what we are thinking to our friends and partners but sometimes we lack the language or the ability to put value on the feelings of being marginalized. Brene' gives that to us through the writing of this book. She's teaching us how to love ourselves, stand up for what we believe in and nicely call bullshit. easily the most impactful book I have read this year.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

I started reading a little unsure where it was headed. but I liked it. the scariest part was Mark describing the Horn of Good Hope. I could feel my own body physically react. well done!

Dan is salty but very authentic. He removes the woo-hoo mystisim from meditation and makes it accessible for all of us. Whether you are a Buddhist, JewBu, Christian or Muslim, you can benefit from his real world insight. I am so glad he wrote this!
