Historia
Few figures in American politics have seen more and said less than Mitt Romney. An outspoken dissident in Donald Trump’s GOP, he has made headlines in recent years for standing alone against the forces he believes are poisoning the party he once led. Romney was the first senator in history to vote to remove from office a president of his own party. When that president’s supporters went on to storm the US Capitol, Romney delivered a thundering speech from the Senate floor accusing his fellow Republicans of stoking insurrection.

Very insightful
Revisado: 10-28-23
This book gave me cause to admire Sen Romney, even if we don’t see eye to eye on issues. The author is thorough and thoughtful, refraining from either the clever cynicism or fawning that sometimes accompanies policial biographies

Not what's advertised
Revisado: 07-07-19
Where to begin? Let's start with the positive.
If you have never read anything about parenting or parenting a child with special needs, this book may offer you some help. Otherwise, it's pretty much stuff you already know.
Now, why I only gave 1 star:
1) This is not the book advertised, but at least 3 books, one of which is a pregnancy book. The special needs book starts at chapter 16, and ends somewhere around 25.
2) A man narrating a pregnancy book is just awkard at best, and often frankly condescending.
3) The information in the special needs portion is incredibly basic, and nothing that isn't posted all over the internet.

Historia
When Schuyler Rummel-Hudson was 18 months old, a question about her lack of speech by her pediatrician set in motion a journey that continues today. When she was diagnosed with bilateral perisylvian polymicrogyria (an extremely rare neurological disorder), her parents were given a name for the monster that had been stalking them from doctor to doctor, and from despair to hope, and back again.

Schuyler's story, and that of her parents, will resonate with any family who has experienced the joy, fear, frustration, and triumph of faith that comes with parenting a child with special needs. Robert Rummel-Hudson is heartbreakingly honest in sharing their journey.
