Historia
When Albie Bramwell’s father died, he was left with two thousand hectares of mountain to farm, and little help to run it. Abandoned by all but two of his workers, the whole town of Alpine Falls called him too young to run the farm alone. Young, yes. At just nineteen, he was determined to prove them wrong. Even if it killed him. In search of a new life, Percy Collins found himself in a small mountain town where he ran into a man not much older than himself and scored a job at Echo Creek.

Sweet

Definitely a sweet story. It’s nice to have a gay story with a happier ending.

Historia
Aunt Blythe's house gives Drew the creeps-it's full of dark rooms, creaky noises, and the sound of a woman sobbing somewhere in the shadows. Then, in the middle of the night, Drew awakens to find a boy standing in his room...a boy who is Drew's exact double, except he looks as if he's come from the grave.

Finally!
Revisado: 08-27-24
Don’t make a deal with a ghost. And if you do, make sure you can play marbles.
This is an old childhood favorite of mine. I’m so glad it’s finally here and read so beautifully. I love it.

Love this story
Revisado: 08-09-24
I love this story. It’s an old favorite. The narrator however seems to whisper the text and shout the dialogue. It’s a bit startling. I understand that it’s a somber story but the change in tone is a bit much.

At first, high school freshmen Rex McClendon and Leif Nelson believe what they’ve been told - that local students’ strange demises at Whitewood, a local reformatory, were all tragic accidents. Love it

When I was reading it, I forgot it was set in North Carolina. Narrator sure didn’t. Some voices were a bit much. Still an engrossing story.
