Historia
Heartwarming, insightful, and often laugh-out-loud funny, A Dog's Purpose is not only the emotional and hilarious story of a dog's many lives, but also a dog's-eye commentary on human relationships and the unbreakable bonds between man and man's best friend. This moving and beautifully crafted story teaches us that love never dies, that our true friends are always with us, and that every creature on earth is born with a purpose.

Historia
Lenny Marks is excellent at not having a life. She bikes home from work at exactly 4pm each day, buys the same groceries for the same meals every week, and owns thirty-six copies of The Hobbit (currently arranged by height). The closest thing she has to a friendship is playing Scrabble against an imaginary Monica Gellar while watching Friends reruns. And Lenny Marks is very, very good at not remembering what happened the day her mother and stepfather disappeared when she was still a child. The day a voice in the back of her mind started whispering, You did this.

She knew what he wrote... One little word that made her feel both cheated and beloved. One word that changed everything. Mine. On a chilly morning in the Northwest Iowa town of Blackhawk, Dr. Lucas Hudson is filling in for the vacationing coroner on a seemingly open-and-shut suicide case. His own life is crumbling around him, but when he unearths the body of a woman buried in the barn floor beneath the hanging corpse, he realizes this terrible discovery could change everything.

Historia
Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II, which begins with The Winds of War and continues here in War and Remembrance, stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

Amazing Story!
Revisado: 08-06-18
This book had us hooked from the first paragraph. It is based on historical fact. A nefarious group of people took advantage of poor, downtrodden folk who could not fight back. They took their children, brought them to their "orphanage" and then sold them to rich people. It was our introduction to Lisa Wingate's writing, and she did a tremendous job of telling this horrific tale. Since then I've been reading more of her books--all good!

superb performance
Revisado: 12-13-16
Enjoyed the story and looking forward to more from this author. ( Always enjoy finding a new author!) What was even better was finding a good book with a superior narrator. My husband and I have listened to audiobooks for 25 years and Debbie Andreen's performance ranks with the best we have heard. Her voice is pleasant and easy to understand, and character voices different enough to follow who was talking. Altogether a great listening experience. We will be looking forward to the next book in the series.
