Historia
A 39-year-old with Asperger’s syndrome and obsessive-compulsive disorder, Edward Stanton lives alone on a rigid schedule in the Montana town where he grew up. His carefully constructed routine includes tracking his most common waking time (7:38 a.m.), refusing to start his therapy sessions even a minute before the appointed hour (10:00 a.m.), and watching one episode of the 1960s cop show Dragnet each night (10:00 p.m.). But when a single mother and her nine-year-old son move in across the street, Edward’s timetable comes undone....

Not at all what I expected!

Any additional comments?
WOW! I just finished 600 Hours of Edward and I loved it. It was not at all what I would have thought when I ordered it. I'm pretty sure I never would have read it, or listed to it at the normal speed, so this is my suggestion, listen at a 1.25 speed, enjoy getting to know Edward, but most of all, don't miss this book. I gave Luke Daniels only two stars because at the regular speed I'm sure I wouldn't have listened. I do not for a minute think it is his reading. He has a director who controls the speed of the delivery. For me, it was way too slow. Do yourself a favor and check this book out.

Historia
Everyone in the quiet Jersey Shore town of Silver Bay knows the story: on a Sunday evening in September 1991, Ramsey Miller threw a blowout block party, then murdered his beautiful wife and three-year-old daughter. But everyone is wrong. The daughter got away. Now she is nearly eighteen and tired of living in secrecy. Under the name Melanie Denison, she has spent the last fifteen years in small-town West Virginia as part of the Witness Protection Program. She has never been allowed to travel, go to a school dance, or even have internet at home. Precautions must be taken at every turn, because Ramsey Miller was never caught and might still be looking for his daughter.

Don't give up!
Revisado: 09-15-15
I almost stopped listening after about 6 hours. I went back and read the reviews to see if I could figure out why I purchased this book I the first place. I don't need reviews with spoilers or to tell me about what happens specifically in the book. I found what I needed, it keeps getting better and better. I'm so happy I finished this book. It is well worth the time. I think it would make a great movie. Anyone else?

Any additional comments?
This is one of those books that keeps you driving around the block, or keeps your neighbors worried about why you are sitting in the car in the driveway. I found it totally compelling. I didn't want it to end. It would make a great movie. As a nurse, I loved the medical aspects of it, but rest assured, you do not need to have any medical background to enjoy this book. I look forward to more by this author. Do yourselves a favor and listen to this one. I'm sure I will again, and I seldom say/do that.

He has written about them, studied their habits intensively, and even lived with them for extended periods of time.

Another great one!
Revisado: 09-05-14
What made the experience of listening to Lone Wolf the most enjoyable?
This book really had me after an initial, 'what the heck it this'? It had me sitting in the driveway more often than I should. The narrator is terrific, but the story is riveting.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Whenever a character was 'speaking' they were my favorite. I think that means Jodi Picoult was my favorite. Each character was developed in a way that when they were featured, I loved them and understood their position.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think the narrator did a fine job. When I would rejoin after it had been off (which means when I got back in the car) I knew exactly where I was, but,she did not exaggerate the voices so much that it was annoying. I'm from Massachusetts and I hate it when narrators who think the know how we sound try to sound like a native, and then have no idea how to say quahog or pronounce the names of our towns.
If you could rename Lone Wolf, what would you call it?
I wouldn't.
Any additional comments?
There are so many levels that this will appeal to folks. Listen, or read it. I purchased the book from Amazon so my friends who don't listen can read it. It is well worth the time.

Historia
Jodi and Todd are at a bad place in their marriage. Much is at stake, including the affluent life they lead in their beautiful waterfront condo in Chicago, as she, the killer, and he, the victim, rush haplessly toward the main event. He is a committed cheater; she lives and breathes denial. He exists in dual worlds; she likes to settle scores. He decides to play for keeps; she has nothing left to lose. Told in alternating voices, The Silent Wife is about a marriage in the throes of dissolution, a couple headed for catastrophe, concessions that can’t be made, and promises that won’t be kept.

The Silent Wife
Revisado: 05-20-14
If you could sum up The Silent Wife in three words, what would they be?
Love, immaturity, sadness.
Would you be willing to try another book from A. S. A. Harrison? Why or why not?
I am willing to try another book be ASA Harrison, although there are parts of this one that didn't seem to connect as smoothly, as I would have liked.
Which character – as performed by Karen White and Donald Corren – was your favorite?
As I listened all the characters were my favorite at one time or another. That being said, there were moments when I disliked all of them, except the dog. I think it takes a great talent to write so this will happen.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
No, not really.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the listen but it did not leave me wanting to run to Audible to find a sequel. Recently I have listened to several books that did make me feel that way. Or at least left me 'missing' and thinking about the characters.
