Anne Perry never disappoints

The narrators character “voices” are very scratchy and not the least appealing. I think it’s all he may be capable of but it really detracts from the performance. But since the story is in superb I’m willing to put up with it.

I’ve not cared as much for a couple of the previous books in the series but this is the same fun and feel as the earlier books in the series.

Fans of Elizabeth Peters & Marie Brennan will love this

I’ve longed looked for another series in the style of Peabody’s Egyptian journals or the Natural History of Dragons series by Marie Brennan. It the same first person format and a similar, dry style of humor. All 3 series are all strong women who are brilliant and whole heartedly single minded in their pursuit of knowledge. I’m so glad I found this while looking for something different last night.
