Historia
Beer, redheads, and politics...Jackson Quick should have known better. First, he trusted a Texas politician. Then he fell for a leggy woman. Worst of all, he drank a beer that tasted funny. Now, he's running for his life and trying to save the world. When Quick is kidnapped and interrogated about the encrypted tech he's been charged by his powerful boss to deliver, he has no idea it's connected to a missing research scientist on the verge of an earth-shaking breakthrough.

unsatisfying
Revisado: 01-01-25
I'm about halfway through, and not sure I'll bother finishing. The main character's confusion gets tedious. Some of the situations take incomprehensible turns. Still looking for someone to admire in the book. If I end up finishing it, and it gets better, I'll revise the review.

I have many recordings of Eckhart Tolle's talks, and they are all very worthwhile. This one took place at the Omega Institute in upstate NY, about a week after 9/11. It is so inspired and serene - helps put everything in perspective. I want to share it with everyone I know.

Historia
The first agent disappearance was a puzzle. The second was a mystery. The third was a conspiracy. Intelligence operatives around the world are disappearing. When a missing American agent re-appears in Venezuela, Court Gentry, the Gray Man, is dispatched to bring him in, but a team of assassins has other ideas. Court escapes with his life and a vital piece of intelligence. Meanwhile, CIA agent Zoya Zakharova is in Berlin. Her mission: to infiltrate a private intelligence firm with some alarming connections. The closer she gets to answers, the less likely she is to get out alive.

Brilliant story!
Revisado: 03-08-21
This is possibly my favorite Gray Man book - it's satisfying and compelling from beginning to ending. Greaney just keeps getting better. The narration is perfect ,really conveys the characters and mood of each scene. It's hard to imagine any other narrator for this series. This was the THIRD time I've listened to Relentless, and I almost feel like starting it again right away...

Historia
Welcome to the fabled Gold Coast, that stretch on the North Shore of Long Island that once held the greatest concentration of wealth and power in America. Here two men are destined for an explosive collision: John Sutter, Wall Street lawyer, holding fast to a fading aristocratic legacy; and Frank Bellarosa, the Mafia don who seizes his piece of the staid and unprepared Gold Coast like a latter-day barbarian chief and draws Sutter and his regally beautiful wife, Susan, into his violent world.

Historia
Harry Bosch is California's newest private investigator. He doesn't advertise, he doesn't have an office, and he's picky about who he works for, but it doesn't matter. His chops from 30 years with the LAPD speak for themselves. Soon one of Southern California's biggest moguls comes calling. The reclusive billionaire has less than six months to live and a lifetime of regrets. He hires Bosch to find out whether he has an heir.

good overall
Revisado: 01-03-21
I loved the first half or 2/3 of the book, but then started noticing several details that didn't add up, or make sense - small omissions the author might not have noticed, but any avid mystery-reader would have caught. For example, Harry pursued the billionaire's son based only on records showing his name, and didn't take advantage of DNA-testing the hairbrush he found until much later. Similarly, they failed to search the main rooms in the house where they suspected a missing detective was held, until after fruitless questioning - why didn't they do it right away? As the book progressed, more and more small things didn't make sense, and it undermined my enjoyment in reading it. An editor could easily have caught these discrepancies... I really enjoyed the narrator's voice and pace, even though many of the voices sounded similar.

well-developed story
Revisado: 12-31-20
Several scenes vividly and convincingly depicted, with interesting twists. Narrator was adequate - could improve realism of feelings at times - for example, when someone is exhausted from running, but their voice sounds perfectly normal. He did a good job with the female character.

Historia
When a viral apocalypse kills 97 percent of the people on the planet, the survivors' humanity is hanging by a thread. Amid the leftovers of civilization, ex-Army Ranger Jason Larsen is reminded of the meaning of hope, family, and loyalty by a dog and a young boy who are as alone as he is. The survivors he seems to collect become family, and that is very bad news for those who think they run the apocalypse.
