Historia
Siobhán O'Sullivan's hopes for a quiet Irish Christmas are dashed when the local Santa turns up dead in a carnival dunk tank of hot cocoa. Now, instead of hunting down holiday gifts, she's pursuing a heartless killer. Seems the dead Santa was no angel either, stealing neighborhood dogs to guide his sleigh. But was it his holiday antics - or worse - that led to his death by chocolate?

Narration is boring and flattens characters
Revisado: 11-03-24
I typically enjoy the lighthearted stories; however, the narrator took a lot of fun / lightheartedness out of the books. I only listened to the first two and couldn't do the third.

Way better than Dateline
Revisado: 10-13-24
I grew up with Dateline / Dateline Mysteries. I was always a fangirl and now listen the podcast. Lately, my thoughts have been, listen to The Deck and The Deck Investigates Dateline team, this is how stories should be put together, investigated, and told.

Good story - painful narration

I'm a big fan of the author. Highly recommend her books. The narrator is stiff, her representation of the characters is alternately pompous and dumb woman.

Narration is overall fine other than the "singing"
Revisado: 09-09-23
The story is good, not outstanding, but well told. The narrator is OK; however, his female voices are too high pitched and make all women sound stupid, and the singing parts are agonising. Female narrators have an easier time playing male roles than men do playing female roles, I think.

So much fun!!!
Revisado: 07-29-23
I loved every book. I listened straight through over the summer on road trips, walks, cleaning binges... often, on a binge a series gets stale or predictable, this didn't at all. I sincerely hope the series picks up again. I miss Adams.
The narrator is outstanding! I will look for more books narrated by her. She's not reading. She's acting it out for us.

Land the plane....
Revisado: 06-26-23
The premise was interesting. Unfortunately, the excruciatingly long descriptions of emotional turmoil and the exaggerated attempt to build suspense resulted in me skipping through a few chapters.
The narrator is very good and tried valiantly to make her performance match the desired level of suspense but there was only so much she could do.

At times this book had me laughing, crying, buzzing with frustration... but ultimately so very amazed and impressed by the resilience of women. Definitely read the authors notes at the end.
