Historia
Agatha was the picture of primness and propriety, but her green eyes could blaze with anger - or sparkle with humor. Scott was the picture of lazy charm and happy indifference to what others thought was right and wrong. They were enemies, then friends. Then the sweet innocence of a child opened their eyes and their hearts - and they were reborn in each other's arms by the soft, wondrous gift of love.

Mixed feelings…
Revisado: 05-02-25
I loved the narration and enjoyed a lot of the book. I have mixed feelings on the slave parts and conversations. The book was too long. A good editor should have eliminated sections.
Their first kiss was in a bed where he had just gotten up and had been laying with a naked former prostitute. The bed was still warm…(SOO GROSS!!). So far this is my least favorite book from the author. The best part of the book is the narrator.

Historia
I wanted to lose myself in the small town of Pelion, Maine. To forget everything I had left behind. The sound of rain. The blood. The coldness of a gun against my skin. For six months, each breath has been a reminder that I survived—and my dad didn't. I'm almost safe again. But the moment I meet Archer Hale, my entire world tilts on its axis . . . and never rights itself again. Until I trespass into his strange, silent, and isolated world, Archer communicates with no one. Yet in his whiskey-colored eyes, something intangible happens between us.

Too Long
Revisado: 02-15-25
I listen to this bc I like the narrator. This story was entirely too long with too many supporting characters. The main love interest did not get together until the final few minutes (major eye roll). He didn’t fight for her. I would not recommend this book. It was a free credit, and I like Mary Sarah, is the only reason I finished it, although I skipped ahead a few times.

The story was predictable and juvenile. The female lead was irritating. I’m glad I didn’t have to pay a credit.

Dragon power activate
Revisado: 11-17-24
Don’t listen to the complaints the narration is fine! Good story. The end with Xaden talking was annoyingly too PC. We get it he’s not going to do anything to her unless she gives her permission! AND yes she’s smart! That should have been edited better. The woke police strike again (eye roll).
Still enjoyable, and the plot twist at the end were really good! Worth your time and dime😉

Ugh….
Revisado: 10-24-24
I really wanted to like this book. The writing was not good. I didn’t enjoy the female leads voice. The romance was just not there. There wasn’t a build up to it where you can feel the longing of their relationship. Some of the scenes were just gross and not romantic at all. Deep sigh… I had high hopes for this book but it was a flop for me. I regret that I paid for it. I wasn’t able to finish it.

I love the narrator, she always does a great job! Emma got on my nerves. All this blubbering and PC about women’s rights at the time, (White aristocrat women) just too much. I didn’t really like Emma. This is the second book I’ve read from this author. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The heroine Clair is just eye rolling ridiculous!! Her big reveal wasn’t really a reveal AT ALLLLLL!!! So much wasted time! The author tries too hard to PC, and it’s not true to the era! The narrator is the only reason I continued, but I fast forward parts. I didn’t really see the reason Clair wanted a divorce AND in the early 1800’s!?!? MAJOR EYE ROLL🙄
