Back in Timber Creek, Mattie finds a chilling note on her front door telling her to look for “him” among the standing dead up in the high country. Truly a Happy Ending!!
Revisado: 01-29-24
I really enjoyed this series! I was afraid I would get bored with so many titles in it. I underestimated the author's ability to keep things going and change it up some with every episode! She does a great job of developing and "growing " the characters as it progressed! I was in love with the vet right along with the heroine! I kinda felt like a big sister watching her grow up and mature with every perilous situation!
The reader did a great job job for the most part. She seemed to be slipping in this book, as if she was getting tired of keeping them separated! The previous books she did a better job job of keeping them separate, distinguishing the voices between characters! I would highly recommend this series, especially to the animal lovers!I I appreciate the continuity of the characters and the story line. I only noticed one little booboo at the beginning of the last book! When she referred to the Cobb brothers as "One was dead and the other in prison", which was not quite accurate at that point!
I think the only reason it stood out to me was because everything else was spot on!! I will definitely watch for more from this author! Thanks!

I love how the characters are developing more with each book. In a series like this, sometimes they will hit a plateau and stall in their development and maturing of the character! I feel like part of the family!!😊

I really like this book, even more than the preceding one! ! The continuity and integrity of the characters and the threads that are continued from one book to the next are really important in order to stay deep in the story!! Excellent job of the writing and also of the performance! Very believable transition between the characters by the reader! I enjoyed it so much that I stayed up all night to finish it! I made myself write this before I went into the app to buy the next book! So... bye now!

Keep the facts straight..
Revisado: 09-17-23
I enjoyed both books but I find it very hard to stay focused on the story when it changes from the first book to the second! For example, first book she wasn't on her way to the airport to leave when she found her dad. There were several times like this discrepancies that should have been the same. Really good performance! Nice voice for this character.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

I read alot of these books and it’s a rare instance that I’m surprised. I usually figure things out long before the author discloses!! But I was pleasantly surprised at the twists and turns that keep you shaking your head and wondering how she got one over on you!! Really good read!
