Sin With Me is the fifth and final book in the Sugarland Creek series by Brooke Montgomery. I have enjoyed all of the stories of the Hollis family, but I’ve been dying for Wilder and Delilah’s turn. These two have a bittersweet history. You don’t have to have read the entire series, but I would really suggest reading book 4 - Only With Me, as it’s Waylon and Harlow’s (Wilder’s twin brother and Delilah’s little sister) book - to have the best understanding of the journey Wilder and Delilah have been on to get to their HEA.
Wilder Hollis has come off as a bit of a good-time playboy, a little lazy, and a bit self centered (to me) in his appearances so far in his siblings’ books, but after reading Sin With Me, he just might be my favorite Hollis sibling. Delilah Fanning has found herself at a crossroads now that she’s entering her 30s and finally trying to take the time to decide what she wants for herself in her life. Seeing them grow up and together in such a sweet and sexy story is a real treat.
The REAL move though, it listening to it all on audio. Teddy Hamilton & Avery Caris really sold this story. It’s a bit of a slow burn to get us there, but it’s just like Wilder to edge us all half to death before blowing our minds! If you’re into southern small town, spicy, cowboy romance with a little intrigue sprinkled in for good measure, I highly recommend the Sugarland Creek series. It’s super bingeable, funny, sexy, and heartwarming.
Thank you to Brooke Montgomery for the ALC opportunity!

The vibes of this entire series are immaculate, but I think Kat and Theo might be my favorite story. These characters have become dear to me and reading this series is like visiting old friends. This audio was great. It is dual narration, but both voice actors have the talent and range to handle the double duty well.

I really liked this story. I was sucked in right away and listened straight through in one sitting. The narrator, Vivienne LaRue, is new to me, and I think she did a great job with both characters voices. I have actually never read an Ali Hazlewood book (gasp! I know...) but I really enjoyed her voice and style in this novella. It makes me want to bump her books up my TBR for sure.

Only With Me is the fourth book in the Sugarland Creek series by Brooke Montgomery, and it focuses on Waylon Hollis and Harlow Fanning. Waylon (32) is 12 years older than Harlow (20), who just also happens to be his ex-girlfriend Delilah’s little sister, and a virgin who still lives at home with her parents.
This book is full of tropes I enjoy, like small town, cowboy, age gap, spicy lessons, and more. It also has some heavy themes with regards to mental health, familial duty, and a romantic suspense twist. The hidden identity plot plays out like a modern spicy “You’ve Got Mail”, and I am here for it.
The spice in this story really worked for me. It included some things I haven’t seen a ton in books, like dry humping and mutual m@sturbation, and made it hot. I loved how Harlow wasn’t afraid to ask for what she wanted. She didn’t hesitate to blow Waylon’s mind with her requests for his special brand of sex education.
Having read several of the Sugarland Creek books, it seems the Hollis family and their neighbors and friends are sort of trauma (and drama) magnets, and this book is no different. Check the content warnings if you have sensitivities because this one starts off pretty heavy.
Thank you so much to Brooke Montgomery for the ALC review opportunity!

It seems that when it comes to the Elf on the Shelf, there are two main schools of thought. There are those that embrace the chaos and joy of coming up with a new adventure for the scout elves every night, and there are those who would rather set their hair on fire than add one more thing to their holiday to-do lists. Shae is the latter, forcing Nick Finch and his well intentioned big mouth to become the former to make it up to her.
Nick Finch is a cowboy with a Christmas tree farm, and the way this man just does the most for those he loves is swoon worthy. He’s a big protective cinnamon roll of a man who just wants to take care of his people. Shae has her walls built high and strong after leaving her abusive marriage, so the black cat/golden retriever vibes are strong here. Watching him break through those barriers and show Shae he only wants to treat her how she has deserved all along? It’s hot cocoa for your holiday burned out soul.
I listened to the audio of this book via audible, and it was so good. Sweet, sexy, funny, and so well done. Savannah Peachwood and Jeremy York made it a pleasure to listen to. The vulnerability and strength they brought to their performances of Shae really enhanced the story. The spice had new life in audio, and had me willing to learn a few rope tricks from Nick myself. 😉
All in all, this was a great Christmas themed audio that made the trek back home for the holidays much more enjoyable!

Aspen Evans is an art major in college, and Morgan Hampton is her new professor. He’s 8 years older than she is, but they’re both immediately drawn to each other. They both are still grieving the loss of a sibling. Aspen lost her twin sister 6 years prior to the start of the story. Morgan lost his estranged brother more recently (6 MO ago) and is now raising his preteen niece alone. Falling in love may be forbidden because of their teacher/student status, but that isn’t enough to stop their feelings from taking over.
This book is an emotional look at anxiety, depression, and grief all while falling in love. There are several possible triggers in the plot of this story, so I do suggest checking the content warnings if you have sensitivities to certain topics or tropes.
I was given the opportunity to review an ALC of this book by the author. I started the book listening at 1X speed, but it felt too slow to me. I was able to push it all the way to 2X speed without missing anything being delivered. The voice actors doing the narration (Ryan Stone & Vivienne LaRue) deliver the lines so slowly that even doubling the speed to 2X didn’t feel too rushed to my ear. Both narrators are new to me, and they do a nice job of evoking the drama in the story and keeping me emotionally engaged.
If you enjoy a good angsty spicy love story, there is definitely plenty of both to be found here.
Many thanks to Brooke (Cumberland) Montgomery for the ALC review opportunity.

This is the first book in the Sugarland Creek series of interconnected standalones that tells the love stories of the members of the Hollis family. We start off with a bang for only daughter Noah and the twice her age cowboy she meets at the Franklin Rodeo. Fisher and Noah are steamy from the start, and I am here for it!
Tor Thom and Maxine Mitchell do a nice job with the narration duties in this audiobook. It's dual narration, so they each take the chapters from their character's POV. My only minor quibble is the pace of Tor Thom's narration. He's leaning into the whole slow talking Southerner stereotype, and at times it almost takes his accent into cartoony territory. I tried listening at a higher speed, and while that didn't have any negative impacts to Maxine's narration in my opinion, the same can't be said for Tor's. It definitely warps his accent into a less pleasing caricature. For me, this one is best enjoyed at 1x speed.
None of that takes away from the story though. Brooke Montgomery has pulled me into the world of the Hollis family and their neighbors and friends so thoroughly, that after reading and loving book#3, I had to start at the beginning and binge them all!

This production was so good. Jason Clarke is the perfect Beau! And the vulnerability Angelina Rocca brought to Bailey was just right. As much as I hate to close out the Chestnut Springs series, this book does such a great job tying it all up with hope for where we leave everyone. The teasing glimpses we get of Ford are definitely moving Wild Love up my TBL!!

Jasper freakin' Jervais...🥵whooo
Jasper and Sloane have been eyeing each other since the moment they met. It's all very "invisible string" how they've stayed in each other's orbit by virtue of family but kept their secret longing for each other to themselves. They both have family trauma in their pasts and find it hard to open up to each other at first. When Jasper finally unclenches and lets Sloane in... wowza. The spice hits in this one for sure. The whole Eaton family and those they've added and adopted make appearances to brighten the story as well. The angst and the pining... perfection. Teddy Hamilton gives another stellar performance as Jasper, and CJ Bloom brings a lovely note to Sloane. I'm trying to pace myself through this series so it's not over too soon, but it's so hard to not binge it all!

The lure of Daddy Adam is a powerful thing. The biggest *ahem* cinnamon roll of them all doesn't just fall, he dives head first. I loved the audio on this one. The narration was great, and even though there are a ton of side characters, everything was kept very distinct. Alex Kydd is quickly moving up the ranks of my favorite male narrators for sure. Kasha Kensington was great too, especially considering she had the bulk of baby Connor's voice to do too. The plot of this book is really well balanced. The emotional moments really hit, the smut is very hot, and the love story is so sweet. I highly recommend this one, although all of the Playing for Keeps Series has been wonderful.
