You don’t need to know anything about this book going in. This is a post apocalyptic little number with the most intricate game show full of murder and mayhem. There is a slew of characters, bad and good.

This was so much fun. Carl and his ex girlfriend’s cat, Princess Donut make the greatest team.

Karin tells her story with incredible grace and candidness. This is filled with (seriously) so many tools to open mindedness and perspective. You can pick and choose techniques that you’re ready for to really start your journey to living the life YOU want to be living.

I have just had some major changes in my life. Som I was expecting and ready for, but more that I wasn’t and this book came to me at the perfect time.

Another thing that I really appreciated was the way she touches on spirituality and your relationship with the higher power you believe in. For me personally, I am stuck right in between atheist and agnostic. I usually hear the word god in a book and immediately want to put the book down. I will say I paused a moment, but I kept going, thankful that this isn’t preachy in any way. I understand the connection people have to a higher power and fully appreciate it even though I don’t feel the same way.

I would recommend this to anyone on their search for inner light and purpose, and also to those who may not even be aware of the rut they are in. There is a lot to gain from this, even if it’s just finding one or two ways to make change in your life.

Karin seems to really just want everyone to reach their own potential and to let their purest light shine.

I have read this multiple times and it is better every single time! TW: There is some language in here that didn’t age well. Slurs that were casually used in 1960 where this book takes place… but if you can get past that (this book was written in 1991)…

This is a truly terrifying stories surrounding a group of middle school kids through the summer of 1960 in small town Illinois. What is supposed to be the best days of their childhood is filled with horrendous evil and a nail biting adventure.

The evil is otherworldly and ancient, killing adults and kids alike, using and possessing them in its malevolence. And this group of kids are smack dab in the center of it all, in a race against time to fight off this malicious force. And it’s a fight for their lives.

Secrets of the past in their sleepy town of Elm Haven will be unearthed and crimes against innocent souls are discovered. All of this hate and fear are a delectable treat to the evil lurking there. And watching this story unfold was as riveting as it was terrifying.

This is a real feel good book even though it deals with some serious issues, such as homophobia and hate, especially around sports.

We have Matt who is publicly outed by tabloids when he is caught getting a little down and dirty in a club with another fella. He loses his career playing football and is all around devastated. His agent decides it’s the best for him to fully come out with news of a serious boyfriend... but Matt doesn’t have a boyfriend...

Enter Noah. He is the son of a politician who is aiming for the White House. Noah is to play the part of Matt’s boyfriend as a favor, but to also stick it to his dad.

The two have a hard time getting along at first, but it doesn’t take long for them to feel attraction towards one another. What starts as a fake relationship for appearances blossoms into something neither of them expected. But can they put their pride aside and make it official?

I loved both of these boys so much. Matt comes from a poor upbringing where, as soon as his family learns he is gay, kick him out on his tush... and Noah comes from immense privilege but rebels against all of it. He wants to make a name for himself and not constantly be in the shadow of his father and his father’s political campaign.

The relationship between Matt and Noah was such fun to watch unfold. The had great chemistry and I truly rooted for them from their first meeting.

So I think at first I had no words to describe how to review things book. I still don’t even think that I have the proper words to do it justice.
I learned of this book through one of my favorite booktubers who describes this as one of the best representations of mental health issues in a book. And I have to say that I whole heartedly agree!
When Theo and James start off all hit and heavy I had no idea the paths this book would take me down. It was represented so painfully and beautifully!

Theo is new at a publishing house and he goes out for drinks one night with some of his new colleagues, where he catches the eye of a handsome man in the bathroom mirror. Later that night, and after many many drinks, Theo winds up in the bathroom getting felt up by this same handsome stranger, and even though this is something so unlike what he has ever done, he lets this man take him right there in the stall. And it. Is. HOTTTT.

When Theo goes into work the following Monday it is not only he who is shocked to see that the man who banged him in the bathroom over the weekend was his freaking BOSS, but James is shocked as well since he has had trouble getting the young man out of his own mind.

See, right there I knew this book was going to be enjoyable for me! And, the banter between these two men was everything! Theo hates him but is so attracted to him at the same time. And James... he can’t figure out why he wants this man so badly when he never sleeps with the same guy more than twice. The chemistry is sizzling between them.

It doesn’t take long for Theo to see his first bout of James’ psychosis and it terrifies him. But still, he wants so badly to get to know him, the REAL him, even though he is so scared at the same time. I thought that was so realistic and beautiful. He didn’t just jump in and say I don’t care that you’re crazy, he was clear that James scared him... but he still needed to be around him!

As the relationship grows, James has to battle with telling Theo about his demons and his constant inner struggle to avert to his own lying and hiding ways was heart breaking.

This book was so amazing. I love these men and what they mean to each other. I love how ultimately strong they both are in their different ways.

I have had this book on my tbr FOREVER and finally just got around to reading it. Why did I wait so freaking long?

One of the biggest things this book left me with is a major icky feeling towards all the celeb mags and gossip I have read and sought out in the past. It makes me feel a little bit of shame. We are all human beings in this world.

Okay now, I loved Farrow! The tattoos, the rings and the piercings, yes!!!!! But I really REALLY loved Maximoff. I mean yes, Farrow was the bodyguard, but Moffy was such a protector of EVERYONE. He was truly good and kind. And the chemistry between them both was explosive. I love when two people have such strong feelings for each other for so long but the other doesn’t know up until that point when neither can hold back any longer and the tension is palpable.

The one person I really didn’t connect with was Jane. I even felt guilty because that was a big deal in the book: how the public love Maximoff but don’t care much for Jane, but I couldn’t help it. She seemed to aloof and while she was a good, strong person, I just didn’t connect with her much. I felt protective in a way towards the end so hopefully my like for her will grow with the coming books.

I really enjoyed the whole big family dynamic. This is the first book of the Ritchie sisters that I have read, but I understand that it’s a continuation of a couple other series. I think that is awesome and it makes me want to read everything!

And the bodyguards!!!!!!! They are all so wonderful. They all have such a strong attachment to these families and have grown up with them. It is a really unique story and I cannot wait to continue into this world of interesting characters.

I was on a kick of this type of mommy drama book genre when I came across this title. I will first say, the narrator was perfection for this book. It made it that much more enjoyable; more enjoyable than perhaps even reading it myself, which is always (I should say usually) my first choice. The characters were perfectly ridiculous and a handful of them were perfectly wonderful. The goings-on and events surrounding the school and their families was hilarious and at times a bit heavy hearted. There is love and abuse. All the lying and drama. Even a bit of a twist.

I watched a documentary on Scientology and it honestly scared the hell out of me! As soon as I saw this book, I knew I wanted to read it. I have always been a fan of Leah Remini. I will say I was not disappointed while listening to her tell her story. She is an incredibly brave person for this, FUNNY too.
