I found myself saying up for hours at night listening to this. The character of Choral being only 19 years old threw me off. Would have been so much more believable if she were at least late 20s. I appreciated that there were no gratuitous sex scenes and little foul language! Good listen!!

In the blink of an eye, the peace he’d craved and enjoyed since his days on the battlefield are gone. Meantime, James and Juliet come of age in a world on the brink of chaos, where the remnants of rebellion at home have snowballed into the horrors of yet another world war.

I LOVE Nevada Barr and thought I had listened to them all. Then I found Burn. I kind of wish I hadn’t. While the story and the telling are fine, the sex and language were offensive. I like the Anna Pigeon of the woods better.

Author did a good job fitting this book into the original Little House books. But I could have done without detailed descriptions of afterbirth and nursing. Just TMI.

Great author. Great writing. Terrific narration! Just one small suggestion. Please pause a few seconds between chapters, especially when they switch between decades and storylines. It can be a bit confusing. Otherwise, perfect!!! More please!!
