Historia
Hundreds of books have been written about the financial crisis that engulfed the world after Lehman Brothers went bankrupt. But what if the bigger financial crisis is ahead of us, not behind us?As John Mauldin and Jonathan Tepper deftly illustrate in this controversial audio book, the crisis was more than a half-century in the making. The Great Financial Crisis, however, was merely Act I.

Wonderful Financial Insights
Revisado: 08-20-12
Where does Endgame rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is one of the better summaries of where we have been and what to expect in the future. Mauldin has a great way of sharing his knowledge.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Endgame?
This is not a novel. It is a set of conditions that explain where we are now and how we got here plus what to expect in the future. There is a lot of information here that I found fascinating.
Which character – as performed by Sean Pratt – was your favorite?
No characters, really, except for the author.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, but it was very interesting.
Any additional comments?
I especially enjoy the author's recap of other countries and what led them into the financial position they are in today. It made me realize how difficult it will be to extract ourselves from the financial problems already created by our politicians and political advisors.

Battle Weary
Revisado: 08-20-12
Where does What It Is Like to Go to War rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was a good book. It increased my compassion and empathy for our citizen soldiers. Vietnam and our current crop of wars leave scars that are with us forever.
What other book might you compare What It Is Like to Go to War to and why?
Different approach but similar to "The Things They Carried" as both books write about the scars war leaves on our mind and soul - on our very existance.
Which character – as performed by Bronson Pinchot – was your favorite?
I did not have a favorite, but I had compassion for each of them.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Wounds of war
Any additional comments?
Marlantes went through some painful times. I appreciate his sharing them with us.

Good guideance for the investor
Revisado: 08-13-12
If you could sum up The Four Pillars of Investing in three words, what would they be?
Investors should "Read this book"
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
There is a lot of detail here. Unless you are familiar with the subject of investing, you may want to read it multiple times.
Which character – as performed by Chris Ryan – was your favorite?
The financial advisor. The author seems to have little respect for most financial advisors.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Instructions on personal investing
Any additional comments?
I liked this book. It has a lot of good down to earth advice for investors.

This book file appears to be corrupted
Revisado: 08-13-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. The book was OK, but I only got about an hour into it before my ipod froze. The last time this happened, Audible was fair, but it took me a long time to resolve and I did not get to finish the book anyway because they had to request an uncorrupted copy. That takes several weeks.. Rather than go through the hassle of that, I just stopped reading and discarded the book.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
See previous response.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
See previous response.
Could you see The Smartest 401(k) Book You'll Ever Read being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Historia
The Passage of Power follows Lyndon Johnson through both the most frustrating and the most triumphant periods of his career - 1958 to 1964. It is a time that would see him trade the extraordinary power he had created for himself as Senate Majority Leader for what became the wretched powerlessness of a Vice President in an administration that disdained and distrusted him. Yet it was, as well, the time in which the presidency, the goal he had always pursued, would be thrust upon him in the moment it took an assassin’s bullet to reach its mark.

Lyndon Johnson at his best
Revisado: 07-22-12
Where does The Passage of Power rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?
This is one of the better books about an American president. At times it tends to drag because the author goes into so much detail, but I had trouble putting it down, even though I was not a Johnson fan.
Who was your favorite character and why?
LBJ. Now I appreciate his trials and tribulations.
Which scene was your favorite?
Johnson's actions after the assassination of Kennedy were amazingly crafted.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
The same as the book title.

Should we pay children to read books or to get good grades? Should we allow corporations to pay for the right to pollute the atmosphere? Is it ethical to pay people to test risky new drugs or to donate their organs? What about hiring mercenaries to fight our wars? Auctioning admission to elite universities? Selling citizenship to immigrants willing to pay?

Probably not
