Carl was a regular construction foreman. Not the worst, not the best, and definitely not the thinnest. Even so, he didn't deserve that heart attack! He really didn't deserve being reborn into a dog-eat-dog world as a dragon. To be fair, it’s nice to be at the top of the food chain. Now Carl just needs to learn how magic works, which monsters are safe to eat, and why his hoard is so important to him. Dealing with change is hard enough, but he has enemy dragons incoming, hostile environments, and foes constantly trying to get bragging rights by taking down a dragon.

love this underdog story and caring character the narrator is a joy to listen too and the comedy gold bloopers after the book ended were brilliant wish more narrators added comedy bloopers at the end

it was a bit of a slow start and the chosen narrator was hard to listen to but the story is interesting and fun I think I'll read the sequels because the narrator made it hard to keep going. The voice wasn't expressive enough.

Amazing urban fantasy with an alternate world where most things magic reside. Lots of unexpected plot twists and amazing world building. The main character is clueless but clever and interesting. Well written and thought out.

great fantasy novel in a world dominated by dragon

one of my favorite book series unlike most of the wings of fire books that are told from the dragons point of before this is told from the point of view of several humans and gives a good insight into how the war of sandwing succession began as well as more insight into details leading up to its end including how 'Flower' Smolder's 'pet scavenger'(the dragons term for humans) knew to show the missing treasure to Sunny and Sunny's various encounters with scavengers in the 5th book Brightest Night
