I absolutely loved this book! the characters and the story were so enchanting! this will definitely be a top read. I wasn't sure what to expect when diving into this story, but if you love dark, Gothic, trials/games, ocd rep, morally gray characters, and temptation... then this is the book for you!! I highly recommend this and CANNOT wait for Enchantra to come out!

I have been in such a reading funk and this took me RIGHT OUT of it!! this had the enemies I wanted and the villainous man of my dreams
the narrator for Erik Bloodsinger was absolutely perfect, and I loved the performance!!
the plot never got boring for me, at no point did I feel like the story was just filler, or fluff. the plot and story telling kept me engaged the whole time. I will most definitely be finishing the entire series!
10/10 - 5 stars - 100%

Oh my gosh, The Cruel Prince will have you hooked like a fish on a line! I'm not even kidding; I DEVOURED this book! Holly Black's magical world-building was so real, I could practically feel the grass between my toes. But what really blew me away was how she made me feel everything that Jude Duarte went through. Every emotion, every fear, every thrill, I was right there with her! This book is bursting with a power-hungry court, first-time love, backstabbing, and sneaky plot twists that'll make you gasp. If you're into fantasy, vindictive nobles, snarky faeries, and espionage, then you gotta read this book.
