This is not that great of a story.

I just don't like the story. It's sad how the cowboy lures Essie, and then leaves town as soon as he got what he wanted! The ending feels weird,too!
I always enjoy Deanne Gist's books, but I didn't like this story. Maybe, I'm too used to the couple falling in love and getting married. So, if that's what you're interested in, I wouldn't recommend this book.

A riveting story!! There is a twist!

I loved listening to this story!! It was gripping, and I enjoyed the added humor. I loved the character "Mrs. Terrell", the story leaves you pondering what happened to her husband.
All around and good story, and it was also quite unpredictable, not like most stories I read! Fantastic story and a wonderful ending!

A great story!

Overall this story was great! The part in the story when an officer get "dressed up", was hilarious!!😂 In some way Emily was annoying, because she didn't just stay put! But big events wouldn't have taken place, if she would have just listened. A fun listen, I enjoyed it!😊
