Not at all a typical riveting James Patterson story. Boring unfocused and all over the place. Struggled to finish it.

Off the bat the narrator is superb one of the best I have ever heard! The story is well researched and weaved into a gripping story where you just want to hear what happens next.It gives great insight into the story of the Viet Nam war. Like all wars the suffering of young people seems pointless in some ways, caused by old men and fought by young men and women, but the human bonds in adversity are inspiring and encouraging. Cometh the hour cometh the woman. Kristin Hannah has written a book with all the qualities of a best seller, an intriguing story and the evocation of a range of emotions experienced by the reader.Well done Kristin I will certainly read other novels that you have written.

Excellent book well written and performed. Concentrates on the formative years of Nike but somehow leaves me wanting a sequel. Very little on all the great sportsmen brought into the Nike fold and not too much insight into Phil’s family life. Not a word about Christina Knight. Seems like only one aspect of Phils life is portrayed. Perhaps thats how he wants it to remain.

Not sure I signed up for Orcs and time travel in a spy novel but it works in the end.Very well researched and tiimes of tense suspense. Not quite up to "I am Pilgrim" standard or realistic believability but close, Definitely worth listening to for 29 hours.
Well read by Jeff Harding although his attempt at talking like Rebecca and other females was a bit ear jarring and would have been better read in his normal voice:-) Has all the elements of the making of a great movie!

This story although clever is far to long and drawn out for a whodunnit. There are far too many undeveloped characters which make the story confusing in the first half, The long online chats are overdone and certainly do not translate well to an Audiobook. The same plot in 350 pages would have been good with less characters remaining in contention. The obsession with smoking and e smoking in virtually every chapter I find totally distasteful and off-putting, Only 15% of UK adults are smokers so I would assume that a large percentage of readers feel the same as me. The narrator,Robert Glenister did a superb job with a difficult script!

The best book on obesity ever. Clear and concise and scientific. Makes so much sense. I think the insulin story is the best part. Only trouble is that 70% of insulin secretion is genetically determined and only 30% is under our control :-( Would be nice to be able to access the forward by Tim Noakes and the tables on fasting which are inaccessible on the audio book.

Zealot or not?

This book is well researched and well written. The history of the Romans and Jews in Jesus' time is fascinating indeed. It makes a strong case for many inaccuracies in today's Bible which was written by thousands of people, many of whom mis- interpreted what happened or what was said. Man made dogma builds up around all the founders of major religions including Christianity but spiritual truth is Universal and if we go inward we know spiritual truth when we hear it. Jesus' teachings of love everyone including your enemies, turn the other cheek, accept what is as if you had chosen it, forgive your enemies, tolerate, turn the other cheek and many other of his teachings don't support that he was just another Zealot building a Jewish Kingdom on Earth. "The Kingdom of Heaven is not there or here but within" tell me that he was an enlightened being (God realized being) which means he would not behave like the Zealots did. Some of his disciples may well have behaved like that. I for one don't buy that he was just another one of many Zealot's of that period. The author makes many many extrapolations and guesses based on how other people behaved in that era but Jesus' core teachings do not support him being one of them. Having said that the history seems accurate and fascinating and therefore this book is worth a read.

I expected an explanation of the Dao De Jing. I got philosophy geek speak that made a confusing manuscript much more confusing! Maybe if you are a Philosophy major this book is for you!

Makes a difficult subject easy

This is a wonderful book which explains this difficult subject as clearly and simply as possible. It certainly seems to explain the unity between Quantum Mechanics and Relativity and is a Unifying theory in my opinion. It debunks the utterly ludicrous "Many Worlds" and other slightly less unbelievable fairy tales that seem to abound among "genius " physicists! Quantum Physicists as a group seems to get so involved in details that they don't see the wood (the overview) for the trees (their linear algebra and vector space equations!). Andrew Thomas is a notable exception to this!
