Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Just as magical as when it first came out
Revisado: 11-20-16
I first read this book in 1998 when I was in Kintergarten, and listening to it now as a 22 year old, it's just as wonderful!

Historia
Months have passed since Juliet Moreau returned to civilization after escaping her father's island - and the secrets she left behind. Now back in London, she is rebuilding the life she once knew and trying to forget Dr. Moreau's horrific legacy - though someone, or something, hasn't forgotten her. As people close to Juliet fall victim one by one to a murderer who leaves a macabre calling card of three claw-like slashes, Juliet fears one of her father's creations may have also made it off the island.

So awesome
Revisado: 11-11-15
I really loved this, especially by the end. I read the first book in the series, and it was fine. I started the second book out of curiosity about the cliff hanger from the first one, but didn't expect much. This second book was GREAT. The story is darker, I found it more mysterious and complex, and I really liked winter in Victorian London as the backdrop rather than the island in the first one. The reader does a great job, and holds her own with the different accents, although they're not flawless. I never got frustrated with her voice like I do with a lot of other readers, and she represents Juliet well, and reads all the characters with consistency. She also puts emotion and depth into lines that I may not have picked up reading on my own.
The love triangle was less annoying in this one than he first book, both love interests were more complex and depthy, and I actually found myself a little torn between them, unlike the first book. The reason I gave the story 4 stars is since it's a YA novel, I feel like it's a little simplified. If this was written for an older audience, I think it's potential could be through the roof.
Really really enjoyed it overall, will be getting the third one.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

Love it!

This reader is fantastic, she really brings the story to another level in my opinion. I'd say she's one of the best out there.
The book itself is great, too. It quickly became one of my all time favorites.

Historia
In Mary's world there are simple truths. The Sisterhood always knows best. The Guardians will protect and serve. The Unconsecrated will never relent. And you must always mind the fence that surrounds the village; the fence that protects the village from the Forest of Hands and Teeth. But, slowly, Mary's truths are failing her. She's learning things she never wanted to know about the Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power, and about the Unconsecrated and their relentlessness.

Meh
Revisado: 05-30-15
Not a fan of the reader. She gives everything the same amount of dramatic emphasis no matter what's happening, and reads every character the same way. I stopped listening halfway through and read the actual book myself because it bothered me too much. I did feel like the pitch of her voice fit with the main character, though. The book itself isn't good either. Very badly edited, there are consistent grammar and spelling errors. The characters had no personality's and non of them were likeable. The story was decent enough that it kept me reading almost until the end, but I stopped a few chapters short because I was bored through the whole thing and felt like I was wasting my time. Wouldn't recommend.

Historia
Bono met his wife in high school, Park says. So did Jerry Lee Lewis, Eleanor answers. I’m not kidding, he says. You should be, she says, we’re 16. What about Romeo and Juliet? Shallow, confused, then dead. I love you, Park says. Wherefore art thou, Eleanor answers. I’m not kidding, he says. You should be. Set over the course of one school year in 1986, this is the story of two star-crossed misfits - smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you’ll remember your own first love.

Thoroughly Enjoyed
Revisado: 05-30-15
I'm super picky about readers, and the ones for this book were actually quite good. My only issue I had was how the male reader read Eleanor's voice. Other than that it was great!
