Historia
Johnnie Rico never really intended to join up—and definitely not the infantry. But now that he’s in the thick of it, trying to get through combat training harder than anything he could have imagined, he knows everyone in his unit is one bad move away from buying the farm in the interstellar war the Terran Federation is waging against the Arachnids. Because everyone in the Mobile Infantry fights. And if the training doesn’t kill you, the Bugs are more than ready to finish the job.

BETTER THAN THE MOVIES!
Revisado: 02-03-25
Had no idea the incredible detail this was going to have. Having never been in the military yet friends that were, had to rewind a few times to follow the jargon.
I would think current m/ex military would enjoy it.
Also, the ability of this incredible author to basically see the inevitable outcome of our societal issues is amazing, and accurate.
I feel more intelligent and thoughtful regarding these deep important issues and concerns.

Historia
Arthur Dent's accidental association with that wholly remarkable book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, has not been entirely without incident.Arthur has traveled the length, breadth, and depth of known, and unknown, space. He has stumbled forward and backward through time. He has been blown up, reassembled, cruelly imprisoned, horribly released, and colorfully insulted more than is strictly necessary.

Yes and yes and more yes!
Revisado: 01-31-25
I like many was ready not to like this… at least as much as those written by DA, yet kept finding myself just literally laughing out loud! To find yet another author so deft at the absurd prose that often runs away in a seemingly meaningless tangent then snapping back into the flow is amazing to me.
Many can come up with absurdities, yet who can do it in the form that fits like a perfect puzzle piece in the strange world we have come to love in the Hitchhikers series.
I only wish there were more.
Thx for a wonderful distraction from reality!

Historia
The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight. Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

The end of the arch
Revisado: 11-10-24
The huge swings of ups and downs emotionally? There were many times that the action is out of control racing down a hill, then slams on the brakes and stops… sometimes with it fills like filler dialogue and information we have heard numerous times throughout this series.
Not sure why we are continually told about character traits we learned in the first few books yet are repeated over and over… seemingly to just extend the length of the story, yet… well it’s ok. The moments that have meat are so filling are like an ultra rich dish of food we can only eat in small portions. This kept me leaning into the story waiting for the next important moment.

For years, the ancient alien AI known as Skippy (the Magnificent, don’t forget that part) has been able to do one impossible thing after another. What is his secret? It’s simple: 100 percent Grade-A extreme awesomeness. And also because he had never been faced with an opponent of equal power. Until now. This time, he might need a little help from a band of filthy monkeys.

Historia
After the Renegade mission by the crew of the starship Flying Dutchman, the UN Expeditionary Force thought Earth was safe for hundreds of years, at least. After there was trouble on the home front and the president had to authorize a nuclear strike on an American city, UNEF decided they did need the Merry Band of Pirates again. So, the Flying Dutchman is sent out on a simple recon mission. But for the pirates, nothing is ever simple, and their mission will become Armageddon.

What a ride!
Revisado: 09-07-24
The writing is excellent. I have been a student of history and frequently research battle tactics and battles of the past. From the earliest recorded history to present day. The amount of accuracy and effort to ensure this alternate timeline fit into realistic ends shows the dedication this writer has taken to be true to the chosen style.
I am flying through this gripping tale and have totally embraced the characters and their journeys.
I cannot wait for the next book!
The only part I find disappointing is the fact I know I will come to the end eventually!
Bravo to both writer and performer, and to all involved in the recording/production of these audio books.

During the test flight of a prototype faster-than-light craft, Lt. Commander Ky is flung into an ancient past that never existed. Rome has fallen, defeated by the mighty Carthaginian Empire, its survivors chased off the continent and onto what had been the remote province of Britannia. Hounded by the Carthaginians bent on conquering the known world, Rome is on the verge of destruction. Stranded and alone, except for a tactical AI implanted in his head, Ky has lost everything and must find a way to live in a world different than anything he's ever known.
