At first, they were “Lucky Lima”. Infantryman Ruben Gallego and his brothers in Lima Company—3rd Battalion, 25th Marines, young men drawn from blue-collar towns, immigrant households, Navajo reservations—returned unscathed on patrol after patrol through the increasingly violent al Anbar region of Iraq, looking for weapons caches and insurgents trying to destabilize the nascent Iraqi government. After two months in Iraq, Lima didn't have a casualty, not a single Purple Heart, no injury worse than a blister. Lucky Lima.

Good book, but terrible narration. Often hard to understand. I had to slow the speed to understand.

In the final days of World War II in Europe, Georgians serving in the Wehrmacht on Texel island off the Dutch coast rose up and slaughtered their German masters. Hitler ordered the island to be retaken and fighting continued for weeks, well after the war's end. The uprising had it origins in the bloody history of Georgia in the 20th century, a history that saw the country move from German occupation, to three short years of independence, to Soviet rule after it was conquered by the Red Army in 1921.

For decades, government pundits have dismissed these "coincidental" deaths, even regarding them as "myths" as "urban legends." Like most people, Richard and David were initially unsure about what to make of these 'coincidences'. After all, events don't "consult the odds" prior to happening; they simply happen. Then someone comes along later and figures out what the odds of it happening were. Some of the deaths seemed purely coincidental; heart attacks, hunting accidents.

Too repetitive

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Great story which could have been told in half the time. Way to repetitive and the writing is pretty confusing and in many places bad.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Fascinating story. Had no idea how many people were involved in the killing of JFK.Poor and repetitive writing.
Would you be willing to try another one of Tom Stechschulte’s performances?
Not sure at this time. Of course it is difficult for the performer to shine if the story is poorly written.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Yes, I am interested in learning more about JFK's assassination from other autos.
