Exciting, thrilling, and well written story!
Revisado: 12-26-19
I truly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading book 2! The book is well written, exciting, and has great character development. I love books that make me laugh out loud. While this book is not written to be a humorous book, the author has included quotes from both books and movies that add humor to the story. I also really enjoy the Biblical aspect of the book and that it is written in a way that even a non-Christian could enjoy the book and hopefully be inspired to learn more about who Jesus is and what he has to offer. Thank you Dr. Spillman, great book!

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

“Reaper, come out and plaaayayayay!”
Revisado: 02-17-16
This was my favorite line in book 3 although reading it doesn’t do it justice. I thoroughly enjoyed the series.
Characters – complex and intricate, there are many. I wish I had re-listened to book 1 and 2 before book 3 (it’s been a while) I had a hard time remembering who was who. There are characters you love and loath. Characters you loath to see die and those you cheer upon their demise. There are those WFT moments, “What are you doing Darrow!?”. The main character as well as the supporting characters have their own strengths, weaknesses and idiosyncrasies. So there are insight into those WTF moments. Really enjoyed the characters!
The references to history, shout outs, quotes, call them what you may made me smile – Dejah Thoris, Ronald Reagan, Winston Churchill. There are many more, these are just the ones that stand out for me at the moment.
Action – be it ships in space or individual troops – awesome action. awesome science fiction.
Narrator – thoroughly enjoyed the narrator, he did a great job.
By the way – the characters are awesome.

Historia
Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.
