Don't buy
Revisado: 02-01-11
If this book was't narrated by Jonathan Keeble, then this only star will certainly have to disappear. Jonathan Keeble is a great narrator but this book has not done him justice. The story is very hard to follow. I just want to resell this audiobook which I know I would never listen to again (I stopped after I finished one third of it).

Historia
John Donne (1572 – 1631) was an English poet, preacher, and a major representative of the metaphysical poets of the period. His works are notable for their realistic and sensual style and include sonnets, love poetry, religious poems, Latin translations, epigrams, elegies, songs, satires, and sermons. His poetry is noted for its vibrancy of language and inventiveness of metaphor, especially as compared to those of his contemporaries.

Never, never listen to Richard Burton before listening to other poetry readers. If you fail to follow my advice, you probably will lose interest in the latter. This advice also applies to 'Under Milk Wood' and 'The Richard Burton Poetry Collection'.

Robert Powell at his best
Revisado: 02-01-11
Although this audiobook is not Lord Byron's best, it certainly is Robert Powell at his best. Get this book and find out how Robert reads it in the way that best reveals Byron's humor, character and wisdom. Some sound effect was also added to the recording to make you feel as if you were actually there when the story took place. By the way, I have listened to it at least five times and will keep listening.

Always give me an audiobook read by Carole Boyd
Revisado: 02-01-11
While I know nothing about Carole's acting career, I do know that she is a born audiobook narrator. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that she is the best British female audiobook narrator (I love Dame Judi Dench too but she is best at reading poetry). She has a voice pleasing to the ear, style of narration soothing to the heart and pace of narration that brings enjoyment. Give her any audiobooks, she will no doubt narrate them with equal charm. Give me any of her audiobooks, I will definitely have a good time listening.

Historia
Walt Whitman’s work influenced many later poetic voices, and no work more so than this epic American poem, 'Leaves of Grass', which he spent his entire life writing and constantly revising until his death. The work heralded a new dynamic relationship in poetry, with its candid and sensual interpretation of his observations and thoughts on the human spirit and all aspects of existence at a time when poetic tradition employed symbolism or allegory.

Historia
Franklin’s Autobiography, one of the most regarded works in early American literature, began as a private collection of anecdotes for his son, but was soon transformed from reflective personal journaling into a work of national history. Filled with the inimitable nuances & wit of the inventor, philosopher, scientist and statesman, this engaging narration of Benjamin Franklin’s classic is as certain to delight modern readers as it did with his original audience.

Historia
Here is one of the greatest English comic novels read by incontrovertible king of English comic audiobook readers, Martin Jarvis. Three men, worried about their health and in search of different experiences, set off 'up the river' in a boat. Jerome's delightful novel, dating from 1900, paints a vivid picture of innocent fun.

Failure of a star audiobook narrator
Revisado: 02-01-11
While admitting I am a fan of Martin Jarvis (particularly when he reads Charles Chickens), I must say this one is a failure. Humorous stories should be told, or read in this case, in the pace that allows listeners to savor the beauty of humor. However, Martin just took this book and read as fast as he could all the way through as if he had to finish it quickly so as not to be late for a hot date. And as the world knows, he can read very quickly. To make matters worse, his deep voice is not ear-friendly at all when projected in a machine-gun-like way as in this audiobook. Slow down, Martin!

Good content but read with strong accent
Revisado: 02-01-11
As someone whose mother tongue is not English, I feel the narrator's accent annoying. Is it American English she reads the book in? I often would not buy those audiobooks that are narrated by their authors because they tend to be poorly read. You see? I am right again this time. It is a good book which I would recommend to procrastinators like me. If you can lay your hands on a printed copy, do it. But if you are particular about the beauty of audiobooks (of which beautiful pronunciation should be an important aspect), I urge you to procrastinate buying this one.

Good for women but not for men
Revisado: 02-01-11
I was tempted into buying this audiobook by its attractive title. I never expected, however, that I had to imagine myself to be a woman in order to force myself to finish almost half of the audiobook. You know why? It's totally written for women!!! As a man myself, I found this book totally irrelevant and have stopped listening completely. Nobody's fault but I deem this a waste of my hard-earned money. Can anyone tell me whether Audible allows us to return (or trade-in) audiobooks we find to be money-wasters so that we can instead buy the other more interesting Audible titles? All said, women may find it interesting. Well-read by Karen White.
