The level of detail is the same as that of all the other novels. I get deeply emerged in the story, and feel like I’m given great sensory information to imagine what is going on. However, story wise this book just isn’t as great as some of the others. There’s a lot of wishy-washiness in the characters, some characters personalities are being entirely altered, and the changing clans businesses is an interesting choice for the warrior code, and not one that I like very much. The code is in place for a reason, and this just shows why. The forbidden love stories that it created were honestly better than the ooey gooey love stories we’re getting right now. However I will say the ending of this one era redeems it’s “lack of drama” most of the reviews are complaining about. It still left me wanting to read more, so I stand by the rating I gave it. Would like to see more action, and maybe more gore description when it comes to the battle scenes. Other than that, it was a good listen.
