Different narrator
Revisado: 08-15-19
Having a different narrator made listening to this book feel like it was not part of the series. The book was also produced/mixed at a much lower volume level so, combined with the softer female voice, I really had to crank up the volume to hear. I do love all the mini love stories revealed in the book, adding extra character to the people of Mitford. This book really was needed in the series, so I'm glad Ms Karon wrote it, even if it was written out of order. 😁

In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

Eye opening and thought provoking

As a fairly liberated white woman, this book both entertained and educated me. Worth it.

Narrator not true to previous ones
Revisado: 04-18-15
I've been listening to all the Betsy Devenshire mysteries. The publisher has used several different narrators and this one is the worst. None of the characters are close to the voices used in previous books and every one is either very nasalized or forced too deep. It was very distracting to the story.

Historia
For Lieutenant Eve Dallas of the NYPSD, the job is a useful reminder of what she has to be grateful for this season. Hosting Roarke's big Irish family for the holiday may be challenging, but it’s a joyful improvement on her own dark childhood. Other couples aren’t as lucky as Eve and Roarke. The Reinholds, for example, are lying on the floor of their Downing Street apartment, stabbed and bludgeoned almost beyond recognition. Those who knew them are stunned - and even more heartbroken by the overwhelming evidence that they were murdered by their own son.

I find myself so irritated at Jerry every time I listen to this book. what a whiny brat! This is partly due to the great writing and partly due to the narrator.
