Gibbs the book a chance!!
Revisado: 06-30-22
Don’t be swayed by the previous reviewer! Stick the book out! Yes, most of the women in the story have unlikeable qualities and do and say cringeworthy things, but this is a family that is fiercely loyal to each other despite abandonment, homelessness, emotional abuse, sexual assault. The story reveals their shared history and individual events in their lives that made them who they are and in the reveals of their secrets they forgive and love and become better versions of themselves. It’s heart-breaking and hopeful!

Just bad
Revisado: 01-22-21
Full of cliches and droned on and on. The male lead’s voice was annoying and why does a 12 year old need a babysitter?

Historia
In the wake of her father's death, Rose Newlin finds solace in her work as a book restorer. Then, one rainy Connecticut afternoon, a struggling painter appears at her door. William Lomazzo brings with him a 16th-century treatise on art, which Rose quickly identifies as a palimpsest: a document written over a hidden diary that had purposely been scraped away. Yet the restoration sparks an unforeseen challenge when William - a married man - and Rose experience an instant, unspoken attraction.

Engrossing!
Revisado: 07-27-20
Initially seemed a little slow but only because I was multi-tasking and didn’t give it my full attention. Restarted on a jog and was truly caught up in the story. Finished after two weeks of runs and very much enjoyed.

It was as if the narrator was reading to pre-K !!
Revisado: 01-06-20
Story was ok, nothing really funny or surprising. But the narrator... it took me forever to listen to because she was so soft spoken and lacked animation. It was like being read to by a pre-K teacher.

More like “My Dimissed Family”
Revisado: 11-25-19
Not sure why why this account was ever thought to be compelling. There is nothing heart-warming, inspirational, or even informative about the author’s dysfunctional family whose roots are based on a selfish, immature couple who have no sense of family or a parent’s sense of responsibility for their offspring. Just a lot of whining, manipulation and explaining away of a generational history of parental neglect.

Historia
Did you know that most of our dinosaur fossils were discovered because two grown men absolutely hated each other? It’s true! Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World is a riotous audio exclusive, like if Monty Python taught your history class. Each volume of four 30-minute histories will dig into the petty name-calling and grumbling grudges that led to many of the world’s greatest advancements, all delivered with a cheeky sense of humor. Choose sides: Cope or Marsh, the jerks who discovered so many dinosaurs; Hamilton or Burr, whose rivalry fueled American politics; and many more....
