Great conclusion to a great series.

The thing that I like the best about this book are the characters. They are very real and present their emotions realistically.

Better and better!
Revisado: 07-16-15
It's hard to believe this series gets better with each book! Jack Campbell is a masterful story teller that captivates his listeners with a unique tale of intrigue and adventure. The characters were portrayed wonderfully and literally made this story. Further, using common room presentation abilities, the narrator charmed the audience into buying the "next tankard of ale".
This story, nay series, is addictive. I am anxiously waiting for the next story. A great listen!

Historia
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?

Great Read/Listen!
Revisado: 07-04-15
Mr. Dalzelle's (Author) book is a wonderful start to an almost certain great series. The author's story has interesting characters that are brought to life through a very eloquent narrator. This book, in my opinion, is well worth your time and money. The only drawback is waiting for the sequel.

Outstanding! Best of the Series! Worth waiting for!!
Revisado: 07-04-15
The author clearly demonstrates his military knowledge and skill. Further, his writing reveals great storytelling ability that gives the reader the desire for more and more. The characters are larger than life heroes that capture reader loyalty and passion. The author has stepped up his game in this book. Bravo - Zulu (Very well done!)!
The reader does an excellent job in every respect. The use of "Zulu" for time instead of "Z" removes distractions for old veterans like me. The reader gives the characters real personality and believability. Bravo-Zulu!
Also, this book has a great cliffhanger. This is an easy read/listen. Can't wait for the next book.

Historia
The anonymous call derails Stacy Justice’s plans for a lazy summer: hot dogs and beer; swims in the lake with her Great Dane, Thor; and hanging with her rekindled old flame, Chance. For years she’s blamed herself for her father’s death - a blame that drove her away from witchcraft and her destiny. But who’d want to kill an innocent small-time newspaperman? That’s the question on Stacy’s mind when she casts a spell that goes horribly wrong. Now, between the white tiger that appears out of thin air, the body in the lake, the gun-toting maniac, and a sudden surge in her powers, Stacy has her hands full once again.

The Eye Of The Tiger
Revisado: 06-23-15
Barbra has continued the wonderful development of the characters and had a satisfactory story.
The narrator was a more than adequate story teller, but just missed getting enthusiasm into the characters. The reader seemed a bit monotone throughout the tale and I just couldn't get into the characters. Where is the old fashioned radio broadcast enthusiasm?
The story was adequate to carry the day, but the heroine, for being such a powerful witch, is a bit wimpy and winey. The clues to the mystery are quickly presented and miss the Sherlock Holmes logical approach. The heroine never seems to be in control and seems to promote stereotypes of the scatterbrained irrationally emotional women. The supporting characters seem scatterbrained also.
Still, the book seems to be much better than the last one.

This audio exceeded my expectations and I literally could not stop listening from start to finish. If there were any part that dragged along I can't remember any of them. The story was filled with more emotional moments than a "moving" van and more twists and turns than a roller coaster. As always the narrator captivated this listener with marvelous character improvisations and grand reading inflections and cadence. This was a wonderful; no, marvelous listen. Bravo Zulu ("Well done" in Fleet lingo.).

Mysteries in fantasy land.
Revisado: 02-07-15
Where does Descent Into the Depths of the Earth rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Liked the book immensely. This ranks in my top 25th percentile. Too many things crammed together to tightly at the end made it difficult for a "light read". It was as though the author or editing staff rushed to get an ending. Still, the setup was strong and engaging, hooking the listener with strong character development and interaction. The stories mystery was wonderfully crafted and presented.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Descent Into the Depths of the Earth?
Nothing stands out strongly to me.
What about Bernard Setaro Clark’s performance did you like?
Mr. Clark has a wonderful storytellers voice. One could easily imagine him in an old time pub telling tales that captivated listeners. Characterizations were eloquent and superb.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
At the end I was impressed with the fairy lords love for his daughter.
Any additional comments?
A great listen to say say the least.

I was pessimistic about this book. Read it with some reluctance. I could not stop listening to it. The characters were captivating and endearing. The interaction between them was brilliant and masterful. The story was wonderful and never seemed to lag. The narrators presentation amplified the tale, entrancing me with great characterization.

Professor Listener
Revisado: 01-03-14
What made the experience of listening to The Crystal Shard the most enjoyable?
The character development. No fiction book can succeed without the reader, listener, identifying with the story participants. The easier that occurs the better. The author achieves this very well.
Which character – as performed by Victor Bevine – was your favorite?
The "Barbarian" was my favorite. He reminded me of "Thor" mixed with "Conan".
Any additional comments?
The story was a bit slow in some areas, while loaded with battles that ended abruptly. These areas are not significant.
