Honestly this book was hot garbage and I’m truly confused why it exists and what book 4 could even be about. For the narrator there were so many times where she made me so uncomfortable with how she would change her voice and intonation during the steamy scenes. She was meh overall but she constantly took me out of the story.

This was everything and I can't believe that it's over. I will say I am going back and forth between a 4 star and a 5 star. But right now I'm going with 5 because I just found this ending so beautiful. The only reason I lean toward a 4 is because the beginning was so long and I was feeling a little worn out with all the fighting but Lucia Franco really knew how to wrap up their story.

There was so many things to love about this book and it wasn't really what I expected. This book is about the aftermath, what happens after a taboo romance and it truly shows the ugly. The destruction that these types of relationships can have, the hurt that the couple will go through, and overall all the challenges that they will continue to face even after I love you. Lucia Franco truly showed her readers that Ria and Kova were made for each other, that they truly loved each other, and that there was no stopping them from being end game.

Ria truly showed growth throughout this whole series and this final book was perfect for her. She grew more independent, pushed her limits and never gave up, and learned how to say no and give to herself. I loved seeing her grow into this strong woman and loved seeing her accomplish all her goals with all odds against her. Kova also had a ton of growth but this book was really focused on us seeing Ria's.

Finally, that epilogue. It was a wonderful surprise to see it from Kova's POV. I love seeing the kids and him and Ria and even though it was a long(er) epilogue I found it perfect. Especially with how it technically ends before the epilogue (which the epilogue fixed the complaint I would have had if it was short and sweet).

This series has a chokehold on me and I'm so happy I was gifted audio arcs because I don't know when I would have gotten around to finishing the series after book 1. I'm so excited to buy physical copies for my shelves now. Kova and Ria are simply everything.

My heart is absolutely broken at the end of this. This story is messy and unhinged and I never thought that I would fall in love with this series, yet here I am. The second book in this series was absolutely phenomenal and completely overshadowed book 1.

First, I want to talk about the narrator (this being an audio ARC). Sarah Puckett is an amazing narrator and she offered an amazing listening experience. She perfectly captures what Ria would sound like in my head and doesn't overdo the other characters' voices. She enhanced the reading experience for sure.

A few words to describe this book: emotional & heartwrenching; this book takes me on a whirlwind of emotions. My heart absolutely aches for Ria and how motivated and determined she is even with everything going against her. I honestly don't know how Lucia did it, but I love her so much and even when she is doing not making the best decisions I can't help but want to hold her and tell Ria that everything will be alright. I also am so curious how Kova will redeem himself and prove that he is the love interest that Ria deserves.

Ngl, I'm going to pick up book 3 asap because I am addicted and need to know what is going to happen next.

After thinking about my feelings on this novel, ultimately I am settling on a 4 star instead of a 5 star. It is only for a few things but ultimately what led to this not being a 5 star rating.

As I've stated in the other reviews the audio narrator for this series is phenomenal and I really enjoy how she voices the other characters in the series which is more noticeable in this novel.

I'll start with the things I didn't enjoy. This book is long, maybe the longest in the series and I feel like I really started to notice it toward the ending and felt very dragged out. Part of me wonders if the reason it felt long was because of the pacing or just because its a long book. I feel like the beginning was super fast paced but the ending was slower. I also didn't appreciate how there was a moment that Ria and Kova backtracked in growth because Ria refused to let go of how he was in the past during a fight at the end of this novel. It was resolved pretty quickly but I was annoyed it was thrown in there. I also didn't appreciate how the father acted in the end and felt like it was so out of character. These things all happened toward the end and overall just made me not love it as much as the previous two books in the series.

Now the things I liked, which are a ton of things. First thing I loved is the beginning of this novel. It was so emotional and raw and I loved loved loved the progression of Kova and Ria and the emotional development between the two. This is probably the only time that I will be okay with a 50 page sex scene because it contributed to the emotional impact of this novel. I think out of all the novels in the series this book by far is the peak for their relationship and I officially believe that these characters are met for each other; that all their heart ache was worth it and that they will overcome all the odds. I also really love Kova's character growth and how he acted in this novel. He has truly showed how much he has changed and how devoted and in love with Ria he is. He really is becoming vulnerable with her and I love it. I also really loved how Avery and Ria reconciled in this and love their friendship so much and how solid it is.

There were so many amazing things about this novel and the problems I had were so small compared to the overwhelming amount of love I had for all other aspects of this book. I'm so curious how this series will end and yet so excited for Ria and Kova's happy ending.

I really teetered on giving this a 4 star, but honestly I loved it so much that I believe it deserves 5.

As I continue to read I have fully accepted that Sara Puckett is an amazing narrator and truly made this an amazing listening experience and might be one of my favorite narrators and I am looking forward to listening to more things by her.

As for the novel, I really enjoyed it but can agree with most of the other reviewers where it really did feel like a filler novel. But I'm not mad about it because at this point I'm extremely invested and it didn't feel too long. One thing that I did enjoy about this book is we start to see a softer side of Kova and I feel like this time around we actually saw and believed the hurt he was feeling, the problems with his marriage, and overall this book in particular made me like him a bit more.

Overall, I loved this and I am so excited to continue on with this series.
