Historia
You might believe you’re thinking clearly in the moments that matter most. But in all likelihood, when the pressure is on, you won’t be thinking at all. And your subsequent actions will inevitably move you further from the results you ultimately seek—love, belonging, success, wealth, victory. According to Farnam Street founder Shane Parrish, we must get better at recognizing these opportunities for what they are, and deploying our cognitive ability in order to achieve the life we want.

Loved it from start to finish
Revisado: 08-06-23
Fantastic! I fell in love with Relaina, Darren, and the rest of our heroes from the get go. I am always on the lookout for good fantasy stories with adult protagonists that don't turn into shock for shock's sake grimdark slugfests, and The Prince of Terrana more than delivered on that front! It's full of love, hope, and bravery in the face of overwhelming adversity. The narrator gave an excellent performance, and I especially enjoyed the musical additions as they really brought the world to life. I know I'll be revisiting this book in the future and I'm excited to see more from this world!

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Excellent read
Revisado: 08-11-22
This was a great read. It's hard to say I enjoyed it because the subject matter was often emotionally difficult and heartbreaking, but Jeanette McCurdy is excellent in print and did a great job narrating. Her frank discussion of her struggles with her body and eating disorders was very relatable and I'm not sure I've encountered someone describe 'eating disorder brain' so perfectly. So appreciative of the strength it took to put this book out into the world, and I'm looking forward to anything she may write in the future.
