Book 1 started slow with the Iranian drama but soon the story turned up the fire!! The twist and turns with all the sleeper agents was spot on tactics,
Book 2 was great, from local Bubbas, urbanites and crusty old Vets to the hard core military the dance with the devils was most exciting!!! My favorite character was ALICE!!!

Very excellent listen!! I guess my favorite part(s) were the interaction between the youths and the older vets, the way the characters personas blossomed and matured by the chain of events. Very cool read.

Better Understanding

Haven't finished listening yet but I have a better understand of some of my kin. I knew my Dad (Robert V. Stewart Jr.) was a MARINE and I was told he was on Iwo Jima, My Uncle Bill (Arthur Lee Gregory) served in the US ARMY in the South Pacific, I was told he was with the Bushmasters(?). My father-n-law (James Hamilton) in the NAVY he was a motor machinist that kept the landing craft up and running, plus he would operate the landing craft during beach landings. I have to mention one of my other Uncles (Samuel A. Gregory) but he fought with Patton's 3rd ARMY from D-Day till the end of the war.
E.B. Sledge's book offered insight on what my kin plus other men saw and experienced. The mental baggage must have been horrific!!
