Historia
When Angela was young, before she came to realize she had a rare ability, she was a rather ordinary girl. At least, that was what everyone said. But Angela is anything but ordinary. The daughter of a meth addict, she is convinced she was born a freak. Haunted by an abusive childhood, she was forced to become a woman far too soon. And in the process, she became more.

Perhaps the start of something as big as SoT?
Revisado: 08-27-18
Full disclosure; being a huge Sword of Truth fan I might be a little bias when judging my Terry Goodkind experience, and have extremely high expectations.
I strayed off the path with Mr. Goodkind and to be honest after finishing Nest, my first thought was: “this would be great as another series”. You really don’t need to read “Nest” before starting Girl in the Moon, but there are some vague references that might qualify as “inside references” if you have read Nest first.
Great original concept for me. Terry Goodkind breaths the kind of life into his characters that you actually end up missing them at the end of the book. Some scenes in this book are intense and even harsh but not gratuitous. We get to know the characters and then we get to change with them. The characters grow and evolve. At the end I was unsure if the protagonist was actually a hero or a villain, but I enjoyed every moment of the trip.
I have crossed paths with Elisabeth Rodgers, as narrator, a few times now, as I am also Koontz fan, and she has never disappointed. Another fabulous performance. If they gave Oscars for Audio Books, I believe Elisabeth would be regularly nominated.

Historia
Tim and his friends find out the hard way that you shouldn't question the game master, and you shouldn't make fun of his cape. One minute, they're drinking away the dreariness of their lives, escaping into a fantasy game and laughing their asses off. The next minute, they're in a horse-drawn cart surrounded by soldiers pointing crossbows at them.

Huge potential drowned in toilet humour
Revisado: 08-27-18
Great story premise and brilliantly performed. This series has the potential to be wonderfully entertaining to the extent that I went and purchased book 2 and 3 in spite of my reservations after the first book. Unfortunately things did not get better. The constant and regular juvenile reference to shit, piss, snot, farting, and vomit, spoiled the whole experience for me. Perhaps I am just not in the target demographic here. If jokes about shitting your pants or vomiting on yourself make you laugh then go for it, there is a lot to enjoy in this series. However if this “toilet” humour, just makes you cringe then be prepared for disappointment, as it features regularly and consistently.

Great story but unfortunate recording
Revisado: 08-28-17
What would have made Roadwork better?
I don’t know much about audio recording but standardising the volume level so that it is consistent would make this a completely different experience.
What other book might you compare Roadwork to and why?
Tough question. Reminds me a little of The Stationary Bike, probably because of the construction crew, and for some reason the tone and first person narrative reminded me of The Green mile serial novel.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of G. Valmont Thomas?
I am not certain if my issues were related directly to the narrator or due to technical problems. At some times I really enjoyed the narration, I was just extremely frustrated with the sentences fading out.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I did enjoy the book but listening to it was a frustrating experience.
Any additional comments?
I am a huge King fan ever since first reading The Stand as a kid, so I am a bit hesitant to write any kind of commentary on one of his works, but as my frustration is not with the story itself I feel I can vent a little here, mostly in hope that my concerns could be addressed and provide a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
Great story, typical rainy weather King.
The performance was not all bad and I enjoyed the actors tone and storytelling at times, but here is my frustration: I don’t find as much time as I would like to read so I really enjoy making my time stuck in traffic a positive experience and I listen to audio books while driving almost every day. Unfortunately I found myself continuously trying to adjust the volume and losing out on much of the intricacies of the story as I often just couldn’t make out the words being read. For much of the book the sentences start out loud but the volume decreases as the sentence continues and towards the end of the sentence fades into an unintelligible whisper.
Extremely frustrating. I listen to audio books all the time while driving and this is the first time I have had this problem.
Listening to this one is a little hard work and requires intense focus and some skipping back and forth to try and gather exactly what is being read. Make sure you listen to this one in a conducive environment or with a good set of headphones.

A Friendly Warning
Revisado: 11-11-15
Any additional comments?
I am compelled to write a review on this audio book, well actually a bit of a warning. Before “reading” this book, be sure to read the synopsis carefully and take the warnings seriously.
I am an avid King, Koontz, Layman fan, and reading/listening to this one had me cringing a few times. Some things just can’t be un-read/heard.
Don’t get me wrong, the writing is in some cases brilliant and the audio performances are well above par, and I managed to get through the entire book telling myself it can’t get worse than the last story, but it did.
The violence and the depths of human depravity are often gratuitous, and in some cases even painful, if you have a vivid imagination like mine. If this is what you are expecting, you will not be disappointed, but if you are slightly naive as I was (I can’t help but feel I have forever lost some tiny innocence I had somewhere before reading/listening to this book) please be certain of what you are getting yourself into before cracking the seal on this Pandora’s box. You will be different once you have read this. A tiny blemish will linger on your soul with a little bit of disgust for the depths to which the human mind can descend in the name of entertainment, and the horrible realisation that some of these stories could chillingly be true.

Historia
Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer. Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries....

Lucky find!
Revisado: 12-05-11
What did you love best about Hounded?
I stumbled onto this looking for something new. I literally logged on and bought the next two books in the series after finishing the first one and am already queuing for the fourth due in March 2012.
This series really has a little of everything. The characters are relatable and the momentum of the story just keeps flowing so well that I wanted to finish this in a single sitting. You don’t need to be a hard core fantasy fiction fan to enjoy this one.
Topped with a great sense of humour this series often had me laughing out loud.
What other book might you compare Hounded to and why?
I definitely haven't read anything like this before.
What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I am not sure. The performance is excellent! It’s just more convenient for me to just switch on and listen than find the time to properly settle down to read.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Auberon (the dog)'s chirps had me snickering a few times.
Any additional comments?
Thoroughly enjoyed it! Can’t wait for the next one. Definitely a new fan!
