I love the fact that Penny read this herself. I loved this book. Plenty of people just remember “Laverne” but clearly she was so much more.

Historia
As one-fifth of the iconic Spice Girls and judge on X Factor and America's Got Talent, Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, has been an international star since the age of 19. And yet there are sides of Mel that no one has ever seen, or really known. Brutally Honest is an exposé of the struggles and acute pain that lay behind the glamour and success. With deep personal insight, remarkable frankness and Melanie’s trademark Yorkshire humour, this audiobook removes the mask of fame and reveals the mother, wife and daughter behind the Spice Girl everyone thinks they know.

Finally Mel’s side…
Revisado: 01-20-23
I saw this ad pop up and I bought the book immediately and listened to the whole thing at once! Always my favourite Spice Girl it was amazing to hear her tell her wonderful story. The woman they used to read her story was absolutely magnificent. I kept thinking it was Mel! I loved how her daughter and others told their side. I also appreciated hearing her side of the Eddie story. I remember hearing his denial of their daughter and it became so clear. She did the right thing by staying quiet at the time because everyone gets to speak their peace and this is her time. I don’t know her but am so proud of her and how she has overcome that awful marriage. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
As soon as she graduated from high school, Pamela Des Barres headed for the Sunset Strip, where she knocked on rock stars' backstage doors and immersed herself in the drugs, danger, and ecstasy of the freewheeling 1960s. Over the next 10 years she had affairs with Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page, Keith Moon, Waylon Jennings, Chris Hillman, Noel Redding, and Jim Morrison, among others. She traveled with Led Zeppelin; lived in sin with Don Johnson; turned down a date with Elvis Presley; and was close friends with Robert Plant, Gram Parsons, Ray Davies, and Frank Zappa.

Awful
Revisado: 12-13-21
The first thing I have to say is this book was read as though the narrator is reading to a toddler. I hated it and thought it was so bad, I can’t even finish. No way can I listen to the other 8plus hours of this style of narrating. I also found the book hard to follow. How is it possible to lose track and not be able to follow an audible book? When the stories are unclear and hard to follow that’s how. I was really excited to listen to this book but sadly I can’t. I would not recommend this book at all. Sorry

Historia
Go de Rass to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don't always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland. Profane, affectionate, and radically honest, California Book Award - winning author Adam Mansbach's verses perfectly capture the familiar - and unspoken - tribulations of putting your little angel down for the night. In the process, they open up a conversation about parenting, granting us permission to admit our frustrations and laugh at their absurdity.

I laugh til I weak
Revisado: 09-06-21
Omg! I purchased the original go the eff to sleep for my son. I found that hilarious. When I saw this version, I thought oh no! When I saw it was being read by Shaggy, I listened immediately while at the airport. It was wonderfully read, the story is so true in any language as any parent knows! I needed this story when my son was young because it made me realize that I wasn’t the only parent who after trying for hours to get their child to sleep, that patience will inevitably run out and the curse words would come. One doesn’t want to curse at their kids, but bedtime is where you’re really pushed to the limit. The fact that a book was needed to highlight the struggles at bedtime, let me know I actually wasn’t the only one. Then it took the stress off bedtime shenanigans and I actually just became calmer at bedtime. So I actually stopped cursing. Would highly recommend either book.

Revisado: 09-03-21
It was so nice to finally hear from Cynthia. We always hear about Yoko, but never Cynthia. It is a wonderful book and it made me sad how hurt she was over him, but it was beautiful to hear how much she loved him. It was well read.

Wonderful story
Revisado: 06-28-21
I found it a bit slow at first, which is typical setting up scenes and characters, but later I couldn’t stop listening and soon I found myself tearing up later in the book. Being of Jamaican descent myself, I related to the characters and the descriptions of the most beautiful island. I would recommend this book.
