Historia
A Human-Shaped God approaches the humanlike accounts of God in the Old Testament as the starting places for theology and uses them to build a picture of the divine. This understanding of God is then brought into conversation with traditional conceptions that depict God as a being who knows everything that happens, is at every place at the same time, is constant and unchanging, and does not ultimately have material form.

Poorly developed arguments and faulty conclusions
Revisado: 03-11-23
Author makes an argument for human-like characteristics of God. Thr setup in the first few chapters were palatable, but then the author begins to use the shape of broken humans as a depiction of God. E.g., God struck Uzzah because when the ox tripped it rocked the ark and caused God to bump his neck, awakening him from a deep sleep, so God was angry when his sleep was disturbed? Really?!? Author misses the point that the anthromophorsms are attempting to allude to. Very disappointing

Some of the world's most successful companies - Google, Disney, Starbucks - are not simply profit-driven, but purpose-driven. They identify the purpose behind why they do what they do and let their "why" drive what they do every day. Nicholas Pearce argues that we all should do the same: discover our "why" and commit to the journey of aligning our daily work with our life's work. The Purpose Path is for people in any field who long to have more than just a job or a career, but a true vocation that allows them to connect their soul with their role.

Making your work line up with your purpose
Revisado: 08-07-19
Find fulfillment in your daily work - loved it!
This book, as the name suggests, gives insight into how an individual can awaken one's consciousness to purposeful living, and then summon the courage to ask questions as to whether daily activities are consistent.
The author uses his background as an organizational and leadership researcher, along with his spiritual leadership to provide thoughts on addressing the issues of purpose and vocational courage. This is not a religious book, but consistent with the topic on vocational courage, the author is drawing from everything that has shaped him, a big part of which is his spiritual background, to pursue work (in this case a book) that is in line with perceived purpose.
I encourage everyone who desires further insight on purposeful living and personal long lasting fulfillment to approach the ideas in the book with an open and receptive mind.
