Historia
Talking about death and dying is considered taboo in polite company, and even in the medical field. Our ideas about dying are confusing at best: Will our memories flash before our eyes? Regrets consume our thoughts? Does a bright light appear at the end of a tunnel? For most people, it will be a slower process, one eased with preparedness, good humor, and a bit of faith. At the forefront of changing attitudes around palliative care is hospice nurse Hadley Vlahos, who shows that end-of-life care can teach us just as much about how to live as it does about how we die.

Excellent

Your book is very thought-provoking and enjoyable. I hope you continue to write on the subject with more added scientific research and exploration of the crossing-over phenomenon. Investigating the patterns of individuals encountered during this experience, whether it's a parent, family member, or maybe a friend, or a pet that shows up during the crossing over could indeed contribute significantly to our understanding.

I was hoping someone was finally going to talk about some of the underlying issues in the Depp and Heard marriage. Some of the issue that ran amok in their marriage went unanswered in the trail that I think begs highlighting. I'm a little disappointed that didn't happen here. There were so many themes that people ignored that cry out for discussion. For instance, why would Heard with a career and resources stay in an abusive marriage if indeed it was abusive? Is this common in abusive relationships? Did she think the abuse was a onetime event and maybe if she hadn't of provoked him it would get better? Did she wonder who would believe her if she went public? What are the odds of two people who came from abusive upbrings end up in abusive marriages? If they were in an abusive relationship, would it have been possible for this couple to get professional help with an unbiased therapist given their celebrity status? What about the alcohol and drug use as well as the financial stressors placed on this couple's marriage, wouldn't that have been significant risk factors for domestic violence? One important question that begs answering is, as a nation, are we convinced abuse only happens in lower classes, and not in upscale marriages?
If there was love in the marriage, did the marriage stand a chance? Did the people that worked for Depp enabled his addiction? Were there too many people in the marriage that worked for Depp were vying and competing with his wife? Were there people in their past relationships that wanted the marriage to end up as a sideliner and now a footnote? Isn't it hard to know what these two people would have been like, if they were given a fair chance? Sadly, the choices they made, given the paranoia, bizarre, unpredictable and violent behavior that drugs can have on people, we will never know.

I think writing this book is probably the hardest thing this author has had to do. I appreciate his honesty and his courage to tell his story. He didn't hold anything back; like the "Unintentional Hero" he wants to be, he really is just that, a Hero in the making. He is not a perfect and he has lots of flaws, but that's what gives him his superpower. Warts and all, he has learned from his unique experiences, and this gives him new insights on the Fox News network.
I can only imagine the pain of a child feeling homeless and the people who were supposed to protect you didn't. There was a lot of pain in his story, but there was also a lot of personal growth, like the time he visited his father's family, which was unthinkable for him a few years ago. Although he was somewhat disappointed, he saw positive within the family. Despite the punches he has had to roll with continually — the reader can feel what he is going through and sees his character evolving.
In time I hope the Author will come to view some of his disappointing and perhaps hurtful exchange as a concrete step on the road toward healing. I know he mentioned Sophia's Choice, although he didn't fully explain it and left the reader or listener wondering about the connection, I hope his next book will expound on that. There is a lot of wisdom and insight in this book with so many themes. I'm looking forward to his next one.
