In Renovation of the Heart, best-selling author Dallas Willard calls it "the transformation of the spirit"- a divine process that "brings every element in our being, working from inside out, into harmony with the will of God or the kingdom of God." In the transformation of our spirits, we become apprentices of Jesus Christ.

Intelligent and easy to understand
Revisado: 04-09-24
This is an understandable look into the deeper thoughts in the Bible. Willard explains subject matter that often gets glossed over because most of us simply do not have the education or experience to "see" the way history and current events are affected by Biblical events.

Historia
Internationally renowned Bible teacher Derek Prince explains that any believer who is not manifesting gifts of the Spirit is living far below the level of God’s provision for his life. One of our greatest necessities in the church today is to demonstrate through the power of the Spirit that Jesus is alive and that His gospel is true. The world needs to see the manifestation of the presence of God. Believers need the ministry of the body of Christ through spiritual gifts. The Gifts of the Spirit reveals how we can fulfill both of these needs—practically and powerfully.

Historia
In the dark, wintry highlands of Lochdubh, Scotland, where the local Calvinist element resists the secular trimmings of Christmas, the spirit of old Saint Nick is about as welcome as a flat tire on a deserted road. Nor is crime taking a holiday, as Constable Hamish Macbeth soon finds himself protecting an unhappy girl, unlocking the secrets of a frightened old woman, and retrieving some stolen holiday goods. Now the lanky lawman must use all his Highland charm and detective skills to make things right.

Funny, heartwarming, hard to put down
Revisado: 06-14-22
M.C. Beaton has a wonderful gift of painting the characters in small Highland towns in a way that helps the reader see, not only what they might look like, but their hearts as well.
Small crimes lead the lone police officer into situations that call for his deductive reasoning to team up with his desire to help lonely people.
This story will leave you smiling.
Graeme Malcolm has the perfect voice and diction to put the listener sitting with the villagers as they open up to each other.

Historia
The Power of Faith is one of the earliest and most profoundly practical works to come from the Rev. Norman Vincent Peale, author of The Power of Positive Thinking. Written in 1940, 12 years before Peale’s classic on positivity, The Power of Faith describes in simple, clear terms how to harness the extraordinary energies of prayer, reflection, faith, and religious insight to revolutionize your life in the areas of relationships, business, self-image, healing, guilt, peace of mind, and purpose.

Honestly, I picked this book to read me to sleep. Instead I found guidance, encouragement, and a reminder that I have gotten out of the habit of connecting my faith to the only Source that can recharge my energy, and reposition my "spiritual GPS."
I find myself much calmer, ready to face my day because instead of wandering around, wondering what to do, I simply hand my problems and fears to the Shepherd and let him lead me beside still waters, knowing he is working out the path I need to follow.
Awesome book! I recommend it from the bottom of my heart!

Exciting story with the perfect narrator
Revisado: 09-28-21
This is a heart-stopping, exciting adventure. Very well written with great characters, intense action, and beautifully detailed descriptions of locations, relationships between the characters, and adrenalin building action. I think I may have burned a few calories!
The narration is excellent. Riley's voice sounds like a Logan Dodge type of guy. ;-) He really helps you "see" the action.

Historia
Best-selling author John Ortberg dispels the myth that eternal life is something way out in outer space that we can only hope to experience after we die - and that being saved is merely about meeting the minimal entrance requirements for getting into heaven. Instead, John unpacks the reality that the moment we trust Christ, we are initiated into “eternal living” with God as a here and now reality, one that will continue beyond our life on this earth.

Clear, Biblically accurate, frequently funny
Revisado: 09-03-21
The reason I decided to get this book is because I've enjoyed several of the author's books before. This one exceeded my expectations and reminded me that if I'm not tuned into the station, I can't hear the music. I'm the one who moved away, and Jesus still calls my name. Ortberg knocked me out of my self-imposed exile and reminded me that God is always here and He has much better plans for me than I ever dreamed of. But I have to put my hand in His and let him lead me out of my bad habits.
Dean Gallagher is able to convey the author's intent with an easy listening voice.

Along with Elaine Banner, an ambitious special agent juggling life as a single mother with her increasingly high-flying career, Blake must track Wardell down as he cuts a swathe across America, apparently killing at random.

Two dimensions beyond intense
Revisado: 06-22-21
Cross has taken an already riveting story and ramped it up into an irresistible, un-put-downable rush into the hunt for a psychotic killer. The plot is simple--get the bad guy, make the FBI happy, find out who is behind it all, and don't get dead. The amazing subplots beneath that are brilliant and Cross only allows the reader/listener to tug at the strings one at a time.
Meyers has that voice that demands your attention. He is adept at changing the pace and intensity of the narrative to give you a visual image that puts you dead center in the action.

Excellent drama
Revisado: 05-27-21
The plot is gripping. The underlying plot that was begun in the 1st book of the series continues to build, producing a feeling of, well. fearful anticipation.
The narrator brings the personalities to life. The plot is intense and it was difficult to find a good stopping-point.
