Historia
There is nothing better than an autumnal tale of horror and suspense. Safe to go out into the fields? Safe to choose a pumpkin to carve into a jack-o-lantern? Maybe. Maybe not. Only in the quiet New England town of Monadnock can a German farmer of Guernseys make you think twice about accepting a free New England pumpkin, but perhaps with good reason.

Hilarious stories and a brilliant performance!
Revisado: 11-05-23
I have hundreds of audiobooks and I have always preferred a production that was made with a full cast (women speaking the voice of women, men for men) but this audiobook has changed my mind! Mr. Salem's "smokey smooth" voice is brilliant and I found myself sucked into the STORY in a way I haven't experienced with multiple voice productions. I was also cracked up by the witty story and found myself identifying with the characters more than once, but this review is on the audiobook so I'll try to stick to the audio portion for this review. I am constantly annoyed by many audiobooks by changes in pace, volume and sound quality but this production stood out from most and before I knew it I'd listened to the whole 5+ hours and missed my bedtime. Mr. Salem's ability to switch between characters and his soothing voice is great! I especially enjoyed his version of the trash police officer's voice. Quite the variety of voices but all from one person! (think Mel Blanc) I'll be listening to more by this audio artist in the future. I usually post only negative reviews to warn people about poor products, so much so that I've had more than my fair share of nasty emails from Amazon telling me they won't post my review. I seldom post positive reviews because I expect a product that I pay for to be good quality. After all, I'm paying good money for it, So I guess I'm quite a bit like the characters in the story, I do occasionally post a positive review if a product is way better than I ever imagined. I waited 2 days before posting this review because I was sure there must be something I was forgetting to complain about, but finally decided it was just one of those products that deserve a good review.

Historia
Sydney's dad is the only psychiatrist for miles around their small Ohio town. He is also unexpectedly dead. Is Sydney crazy, or is it kind of weird that her dad - a guy whose entire job revolved around other peoples' secrets - crashed alone, with no explanation? And why is June Copeland, homecoming queen and the town's golden child, at his funeral? As the two teenagers grow closer in the wake of the accident, it's clear that not everyone is happy about their new friendship. But what is picture-perfect June still hiding? And does Sydney even want to know?

More than you expect!

OK, I paid for both the Kindle book and audiobook, so this is not a paid review or a "Vine". I was inspired by her poetry books and YT videos. And before I forget, there are two new poems that are inspiring as a bonus at the end of her book. And the text for the book is a bit different from the audiobook, I suspect she's working on a "version 2" of the book and that's what she reads from which is a hoot when you're using a Fire Tablet to read the Kindle book in "immersive reading mode" as the highlight either pauses or jumps when it comes to an addition or deletion in the audio version. Sometimes it is brief and other times it's a more extended addition for clarity. Good experience either way. No, I won't do a spoiler alert, Stick to it if you're ADD and you'll be glad you did. I promise you that it has a good ending. I cried for joy. I wasn't surprised by the cell phone plot twist, but how they used it blew me away! And the character development was #1. I sincerely hope they make a film of this with the author or another autistic playing the key roles. Search YT for Savannah Brown for more info.

Disappointing that they changed the Word of God
Revisado: 10-14-23
The original Greek test reads "by prayer and fasting" but they changed that to imply that fasting is NOT required. That's like changing "Thou shalt not commit adultery" by leaving out "NOT".
