STRENGTH AND HONOR
Revisado: 01-17-24
I thought that this was well written. I gave it a EXCELLENT. It shows that there are people out there that are willing to put their party associations aside and stand up for the truth for the sake of the country. Trump was and is a DISGRACE! I thank the author for being honest in a time of turmoil and putting it on the line inspite of the ramifications that she had to face.

Soon after the war, Gross wrote down his adventures, while his memory was still fresh with the events. Rattler One-Seven (his call sign) is written as he experienced it, using these notes along with letters written home to accurately preserve the mindset he had while in Vietnam.

Very flat
Revisado: 09-08-23
It was a very flat story. There was really not too much exciting about it. Nothing really stood out in this book. It was more or less just something to read about a bad time in American history.

Magnificent
Revisado: 07-07-23
I had heard of Robin Knowles prior to the book. However, I had never really read about his exports. I was in Vietnam from 1966/1967. I was in Guam 1973 when the war ended. I was in Thailand in 1975 when Vietnam fell to the communist. This was somewhat of a history lesson to make hearing it from general Olfs. Truly, truly a great historical book. God bless him.

Exceptional, history, lesson
Revisado: 03-06-23
I read this book, really not knowing what to expect. This was just not about General Patton, it was about a trip through history, especially World War II. And I did cover a lot of the key players during the war, and what happened to them after the war. It was very saddening when reading how the Russians came into Germany and raped, assaulted, and just basically went crazy with revenge on the German females that were left behind. Very, very sad. However, this was war and there are so many things that go on in the world that are in just horrible. Overall, I learned quite a bit from this book, and I give it five stars!

Historia
John Comer kept a journal of the 25 missions he flew in 1943, when the casualty rate on his base was close to 80 percent. His book is handwritten history, recorded within hours after the battles occurred. Comer vividly creates his experiences as top-turret gunner/flight engineer in a B-17 squadron that was thrown against the best pilots the Luftwaffe could offer.

A love Story
Revisado: 01-26-23
I served in the Air force going to Viet Nam (66-67.) I was on Guam (71-73) during the bombing that brought the "Peace with honor." play on words!! I was in Thailand in 1975 when Viet Nam fell. Needless to say this book brought back memories. I must say that the way it was written seemed like a Love story for a person hat had loved and lost and how he attempted to make things right again with his past. I really enjoyed the book in that along with his personal story, giving a view of the suffering that went on during that time in Cambodia. It was fascinating that it all came full circle when he was able to take her ashes back to her home, giving them back to the wind and land from whence she came. Truly a Love Story. EXCELLENT !!!

Historia
Policing Saigon isn't Platoon or Apocalypse Now, but the story of Loren W. Christensen's experience as a military policeman (MP) in a city of millions at a time when chaos and fear reigned. As a 23-year-old from a small town in Washington State, the author was plunged into a chaotic city of brawling servicemen, prostitutes, racial violence, enemy rockets, riots, and death. It was a place that would give him a unique opportunity to see up close a different side of the Vietnam War and its effect on the human condition.

Refections of days gone by
Revisado: 12-28-22
I was stationed in Viet Nam from 66/67. I was at Tan Son Khnut during my tour there. I was also a member of the 377th Air Police Squadron while there. Many of the places that were spoken about in the book I had been to (good and bad.) I also worked with the 716th Military Police there. I had to laugh about 100 P alley and some of the things that went on there. It was funny in that all the off limits places were the best places to go. I guess that when you are young, one does a multitude of interesting things in that you believe that you are invincible. It was very good reading, It really told the story of Saigon and the surrounding area from the military police view.. A lot of very good men at a very bad time! Very well done.

Very informative
Revisado: 10-02-22
I found this book very, very interesting. It was very down to earth about a female that enjoys what she does. I learned quite a bit about the industry and how it works in regards to the people that work in it along with the people that feel it. She was very, very candid about her way of life and the things that she has done. I applaud her for being who she is and enjoy the ways of her life. It’s just a job!

Historia
I watched two point men take 50-caliber machine gun bullets to the head and watched the third being grabbed and taken behind enemy lines. Two of the enemy soldiers, whom we often referred to as gooks, quickly came after me. As I mowed them down with my automatic rifle, I crawled backward, away from the enemy gunfire, using my helmet to push sand in front of me as I went, which made it possible to look behind me. But as I looked back, I realized my safety net was no longer safe.

The real deal
Revisado: 09-19-22
As a veteran of Vietnam, I found the story very, very insightful and realistic. Although I was not out in the bush as were many, I did see Many of the horrors that this book spoke to. Vietnam as with this author makes a man out of a boy. It’s just such a pity that’s so many men did not come back. This was a great book.
