This is the best audiobook I’ve ever heard… I have honestly been stunned into silence so many times in reflecting on my own childhood, adulthood, and parenthood. I’ve cried to myself listening to this reflecting on how some thing so do that I think are helping my kids could be stunting them. Realizing that even when you think you’re giving your children the opportunities you never had, may just mean you’re trying to have them live a life they don’t want is eye-opening, a reality check, and has lead me into viewing myself from a more objective view that I believe will change my future and that of my kids forever,
This resonates so well in many aspects. Jennette’s writing is raw and tells a heavy story that I truly believe will influence everyone in some capacity. It lingers in your mind and is beautifully written and told by her,

Full of culture and rife with teen angst. Beautiful story of Asian heritage and coming of age from a tightly knit Asian background. Unexpectedly beautiful and wonderfully crafted. I would have liked to know what happened to the main couple at the end though! Will there be a second book?! I would read it ♥️

Chapter 4 and 5 are my favorite. Her voice is nicely calming. I love the analogy of the water lily effortlessly floating and I find this very easy to picture while meditating and can clear my mind while focusing on this image. I found this book after searching on YouTube for a guided meditation and stumbled upon the shortened version of this (Chapter 5 in this book). I love this! Thank you, Linda. 🙏🏼
