Historia
From 1926 to 1928, Gordon Stewart Northcott committed at least 20 murders on a chicken ranch outside of Los Angeles. His nephew, Sanford Clark, was held captive there from the age of 13 to 15, and was the sole surviving victim of the killing spree. Here, acclaimed crime writer Anthony Flacco - using never-before-heard information from Sanford’s son Jerry Clark - tells the real story behind the case that riveted the nation.

Ty for telling this story.

I listened to your podcast on Most Notorious and then got your book. Raw. I liked the perspective. I appreciated the bluntness and lack of “nicing” up the uncles actions.

I did enjoy it, what a pretty voice to listen to a beautiful story. I do think the southern states twang a bit off for some of the characters.

Historia
Near the end of her life, Mary Mann Hamilton (1866-c.1936) was encouraged to record her experiences as a female pioneer. The result is the only known firsthand account of a remarkable woman thrust into the center of taming the American South - surviving floods, tornadoes, and fires; facing bears, panthers, and snakes; managing a boardinghouse in Arkansas that was home to an eccentric group of settlers; and running a logging camp in Mississippi that blazed a trail for development in the Mississippi Delta.

Historia
London, 1765. Lady Isabella Gerard, a respectable member of Georgian society, orders her maid to take her new golden gown and destroy it, its shimmering beauty tainted by the actions of her brutal husband the night before. Three months later, Lord Gerard stands at the shoreline of the lake, looking down at a woman wearing the golden gown. As the body slowly rolls over to reveal her face, it’s clear this was not his intended victim…

A little disappointing.
Revisado: 07-08-18
I was excited for the 2nd part, but it wasn’t great. While it wasn’t the best, I did order the 3rd book & will listen to it. In my opinion, way too many “feelings” for such a “trained” soldier. The love affair part was very lame. Enough. Plus, the narrator has a whiney voice.

Historia
Emily is offered the chance to go to Shrewsbury High School with her friends, but there are two conditions: first, she must live with the aunt she dislikes, and second, she must not write for the duration of her high school education. At first, Emily refuses the offer, unable to contemplate a life without writing, but then her cousin changes the condition slightly, amending it to just a restriction concerning writing fiction. Emily does not think this is much of an improvement, but it turns out to be an excellent exercise for her budding writing career.

Revisado: 07-05-17
Saying that, I have to say it was a pleasure to revisit her. The narrator doesn't do well with the accents she assigns to many characters unfortunately. I'm still happy I bought the books, I just wish she'd better chosen how to represent their voices.

So happy that Emily has finally been turned into an audio. I do think the narrator does a good job except for several accents she gives characters that are horrible. Better read straight than butcher a character.
