Historia
Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality.

God I just love this series. I’ve listened to and read it so many times now. It’s one I gravitate back to pretty often because it’s just so good. Savage Bonds is where I felt the story REALLY took off, starting to bring you into the depth of the story.

Historia
When professional—and self-taught—violinist Gwen Jackson plays, she disappears into the peaks and valleys of each song, a quiet passion that never quite explodes into pure emotion. Xander Thorne is the exact opposite. A cellist and a rock star, he’s all about big emotion, but not even his six-foot-four frame can contain his skill, his genius...and an attitude that borders on jerkitude.

God I love this book, this audio, just everything.
Revisado: 01-14-25
This book is just so good. I’m reminded of that every time I read or listen to it. The tension is written SO WELL. I’m not sure if it’s because I grew up playing music, but the scenes where they communicate through music, omg. I die. Those scenes make my heart absolutely THROB.
My only wish is that I wish I had more of Alex’s POV, but it’s really okay that we don’t. His chapters are really impactful.
I also just have to say, the way anxiety is written in this book is really heart wrenching.. coming from someone who suffers from extreme anxiety. I get so frustrated at certain parts, but then totally relate to them at the same time. It felt so real in that way.
I just adore this book. I come back to it kind of often because I love the way the romance is written. Highly recommend.

Rue Siebert might not have it all, but she has enough: a few friends she can always count on, the financial stability she yearned for as a kid, and a successful career as a biotech engineer at Kline, one of the most promising start-ups in the field of food science. Her world is stable, pleasant, and hard-fought. Until a hostile takeover and its offensively attractive front man threatens to bring it all crumbling down.

Absolutely adore this story, the way it was told, and the characters
Revisado: 01-11-25
This book won’t be for everyone, but I absolutely loved it. I loved the pov of someone who struggled with social interactions and had developed early coping mechanisms for that. I loved that she met someone who could draw her out, but only within the boundaries she was still comfortable in. Never trying to change her.
Is it insta lust/love? Sure. Was I okay with that? In this instance I was. Having one side be so resistant while the other was so on board was really sweet to read. Idk. This book worked for me. I loved it.
Ru’s narration feels flat sometimes, but honestly I think she would sound like that. So I actually thought this narration was really on point. His voice is so good.
Read the intro the author does on this book. She explains how this books dynamic is different than her others and I do think that’s important.

Historia
If she wasn’t dead already, Delphie would be dying of embarrassment. Not only did she just die by choking on a microwaveable burger, but now she’s standing in her ‘shine like a star’ nightie in front of the hottest man she’s ever seen. And he’s smiling at her. As they start to chat, everything else becomes background noise. That is until someone comes running out of a door, yelling something about a huge mistake, and sends the dreamy stranger back down to earth. And here Delphie was thinking her luck might be different in the afterlife.

This is a really sweet story with self growth and romance
Revisado: 01-11-25
I ended up rating this one and overall 4.5. The story is really sweet and made me laugh out loud on multiple occasions.
I felt the narrator didn’t fully sink into the more masculine voices, which sometimes made it difficult to realize when characters were switching back and forth, but overall I didn’t feel that took too much away from the story as I listened.
I really enjoyed all the silly shenanigans along the way to romance in this one, despite wishing the romance hit a tad sooner. I think it worked for the book.
If you enjoy magical realism romance, this is definitely a good one to add to the list.

By far one of my favorite audiobooks of all time
Revisado: 11-19-24
This audiobook has become such a comfort for me. I couldn’t even tell you how many times I’ve listened to it, in total and in pieces. Julia Whelan quickly became one of my all time favorite narrators with this one. She is magic.
Not only is this audiobook one of my favorites but this is my favorite book. It’s so beautiful, so relatable, so sad and magical and everything everything everything. It fills me with such a feeling of.. devastation and love and relief all at once. I love it. Read it. Listen to it.
I’ve heard people say they found the beginning boring and I just cannot relate. I think if you’ve ever desperately needed to escape anywhere you will not feel that way. You’ll understand and hang on every lyrical line that VE Schwab writes. I’ll always come back to this story in some form, including audio.

The voices felt perfectly matched for this one!
Revisado: 11-19-24
I have to say, the narrators were absolutely spot on for this one! Would have loved for a duet but I know that’s not always possible. Even still, I don’t have any negative thoughts about the voice performances of the other characters like I sometimes do, having to get past it. They did really well!
My more thorough book review of this is on goodreads which I left after reading the paperback, but as a quick little recap as I feel about this whole series I loved this book. It still feels like a warm little hug and I’ll always recommend!
One thing I did notice about this one, though, is that I came out of it feeling like a lot of the book revolved around the outside characters. I didn’t feel like our mcs got as much 1:1 time. I think that’s okay, but I did miss how that built on the bigger romantic moments in the other books. I still loved it though!

Historia
Weston Belmont. The man is a shameless flirt. He oozes confidence and masculinity in a way that’s downright distracting. And in bed? He’s addictive. Everything with him is wild and impulsive and I’m desperate to regain some control. But no one has supported me like West does. And no one has ever made me feel as loved as he does either. So, while my brain says settling down with a small-town horse trainer is impossible… my heart says I’m right where I belong.

I admittedly liked this story even better than Wild Love, and the narration is absolutely excellent!! I can be pretty particular about narrators, so really only get books I think I’ll listen to more than once as comfort listens. I snapped this one up and loved every second!

Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.

Revisado: 10-06-24
I will honestly listen to anything with Julia Whelan’s name on it, and I’ll read anything by Abby Jimenez.
This audiobook was so well done! I’m pretty sensitive to narrator voices, and these were just so well done!! I mostly do audiobooks as rereads for books I love, so I’m pretty picky about the tone of the audiobook. This one was perfection!
